It looked so odd, so completely and utterly fake, it almost seemed like this were only in movies, bloody and distorted shows of what could be done to the human body. Bullets though the brains of strangers could never prepare someone for the maimed body of family. She (slowly) put her hand out over part of a wound, as if to test whether or not it would wash away with hot water. It made contact with part of the chest, and suddenly she felt the urge scream in horror, it was real. This was real.A sharp incision between her ribs,bruises on top of the splinters of bone that manage to break through skin, burns on either of her wrist that had turned black, were part of a long list of injuries that were most likely never going to completely heal.

Artemis had gone missing a little over four months ago. She had been found about four hours ago. Apparently robin and some others had found her while on another mission. She had been lying unconscious on the floor and hasn't been given the chance to wake up yet because she had only left surgery a couple minutes ago, could wake up any minute. No one was supposed to be in here,so she hoped to God that Artemis would wake up before a doctor made rounds. She was holding her hand in such as way as to not hurt her anymore. She waited until a pair of grey eyes opened.

"Hey artemis"

"What the fuck did you do?"she looked around for a few moments before speaking, trying to put together what was going on, before giving up. She nocited jade was in costume but she wasn't. While there were a variety of scenarios that could cause that, most of them did not say the best for jade's mortal.

"Now how is that a warm welcome" she teased artemis Believe it or not, this wasn't my fault for once. You got your ass kicked" jade resisted the urge to say how she thought that the other might die.

" yeah, I noticed" artemis rolled her eyes and grimaces as she pulled herself up to a sitting position "where are we?"

"So hospital with easily picked locks window locks, apparently the story they are going with is the artemis was a little girl who got herself kidnapped,and so the supers had to step in to save the civilian" she emphasized the idea that artemis wasn't playing hero just to make sure she knew how to act.

"And why are you here?"

"If anyone asked, I never was"she climbed out of the window.

I wanted to write something for Halloween, so I figure why not write a piece about the little bits of bonding jade and artemis manage.
