Got this idea from a fan review of Tate no Yuusha though I cannot remember the poster.
The part of the review that intrigued me was the fact that three supposedly experienced gamers of RPGs and MMOs forgot what a tank was, its purpose and why it was needed. From there small connections kept whirling through my head wanting to combine these stories. But I am a better editor and one liner than an author and just cannot make it work. So, I am posting a challenge with an offer to beta.
Challenge:
Bring the guild of Log Horizon to the world of Tate no Yuusha and interact with Naofumi Iwatani. Probably assisting the Naofumi. (the other way could work but seems less interesting to me)
The villain in glasses meets the demon of the shield
Additional Points:
1. It would be good for the writer to have read at least part of the manga/anime, though light or web novels would be better. Details like Shiro is an observant tactician while Naofumi is more of a practical, build your foundation kind of person can be found there and are vital. (willing to help with trivia)
2. While it does not have to be Log Horizon, I would prefer it to be from a gamer series who uses actual teamwork and comradery not just an individual with overwhelming skills/power. God modes can be fun but there is little room for interesting growth.
3. While misunderstandings can occur, I would rather not see the main characters holding the stupid ball regularly.
4. Gaming tactics used beyond party compositions would be a big plus
Suggestions for those having issues:
1. The fact that Naofumi was a former guild master could be used to start a relationship.
2. Three meet points: Karma islands, the kidnapped/killed princess incident, death tortoise affair.
3. The summoning of log horizon (crossover element) could be something like the attempted summoning of the other countries crossed with gate magic or something similar.
