From the dark comes a new light
We met that night,
under the moon's glowing light.
I held in my hand
those god-awful lyrics for your band.
You didn't know me,
yet you wouldn't let me be.
No matter how I pushed you away,
I thought you weren't gay?
I tried to ignore
the feelings I bore.
But you wouldn't let go
even when I tried to stop the flow.
I did not want to remember at all,
but you were presistant, like the leaves changing in fall.
Hence you broke through my icy barrier.
Then people said I became merrier.
There was debate
after our first date,
As to whether or not,
you were my best shot.
I yelled at them all, go to hell,
or better yet, go drown in a well!
Once I calmed my temper down, I made them see reason.
From the looks on their faces, you would have thought I'd commited treason.
Now you better be happy,
Because I'm done being sappy.
You have a hold on my heart,
Your love is like a dart.
Now that I've moved on from my past,
maybe this time it will last.
