A Star No More
People say when you're born a star appears,
Well I think that's true,
And when I look up at the stars,
One stands out among the rest,
It reminds me of someone that I used to know,
I can still hear his voice,
I can still feel him near,
A cowboy named Spike,
I remember you as I stare at this star,
I want to know where you are,
How you are doing,
I stare at the sky at the star I know is yours,
And suddenly I feel sad,
And tears begin to fall,
The star has disappeared,
It's gone,
You're gone,
Your star has gone out,
Just like your life,
A cold breeze blows,
As I cry,
Then I turn to leave and there on the ground,
Is a red rose,
I remember you,
You gave me a rose,
Your life is gone but your heart is not,
This rose in front of me is a gift from you,
I will never forget you space cowboy,
I say as I look down at the rose,
The wind blows it away,
I watch the rose fly and it reminds me of you,
You're finally free,
Just like the rose,
Then as it disappears in the dark sky,
I say to myself,
See you space cowboy.
