Doon always knew he and Lina would one day be together. He just never got the courage to propose. One day he went to Dr. Hester's house.
He knocked on the door. Lina answered
"Oh! Hi Doon! What a surprise," Lina said.
"Um, Lina, I have to ask you something," Doon said nervously.
"Well, can it wait? I went roaming today and…"
Doon wasn't listening. In fact he had learned from his father how to ignore girls when you didn't want to listen.
"…And I think I saw Tick!"
"Huh? What?! I thought he said he would never come back!"
"Oh, Doon. What did you want to ask me?"
"Uh, do you like… green beans?"
"What kinda question is that?" Lina asked, but Doon was already gone.
Doon had to find Tick. Maybe he could stop Tick, and save Sparks. While he was running, he ran into Lizzie.
"Oh, hiya Doon," Lizzie said.
"Sorry, can't talk. Here hold this," he said handing the ring to Lizzie.
"Oh, Doon, I accept!" Lizzie screamed.
"Huh? Wait! That's for Lina!" Doon said.
"Oh, sorry. I'm really sorry."
"It's okay. I just want to keep it a surprise. Now I have to find Tick."
"What? Tick is back?"
"Yeah. I have to find him."
Meanwhile, Lina was balling. She had heard Doon propose to Lizzie. She always liked Doon. Now he was marrying he best friend. She didn't hear what Doon had said afterword.
Doon had to find Tick. He couldn't have a war. He knew Tick was persuasive, and could get lots of Emberites to declare war. Doon looked out on the roamer trails. There he saw Tick running in the opposite direction of Sparks.
