Notes: This is for tw100 challenge – x-factor. I couldn't think of anything and then the news that Nicholas Courtney was dead was announced. I always wanted Jack to have met him and imagined that they would have a grudging respect for each other. This isn't much of a tribute but I wanted to write something. Brig – I salute you.
The Brigadier
'Good to see you again, Captain. It's been a while.' The Brigadier looked over his glasses at the man in front of him. 'So what brings you here without the Doctor?'
'Need, boredom, grief you name it. Got any world saving you need doing that an immortal ex-soldier could deal with?'
'Jack, I'm not sending you into danger so you can die over and over again. Look, you know that there are things about you that I could never approve of, but what is it?'
Jack looked up at the Brigadier and simply said, 'I loved him and he died.'
