Chapter 1
Dreams
The χ-blade... was only the beginning.
'What?'
The trinity of Keyblades... must be broken.
'Huh?'
The mark of mastery...is failing.
'No...'
Sora awoke, sweating. It had just been a dream, and yet... That voice was so familiar. But he hadn't heard it before, and yet, it felt like he had. He lowered his face into his hands, trying to rub away to tiredness in his eyes, as if he could rub away the confusion that his dream was causing him.
What that for real... or not?
Sora had been having a lot of weird dreams recently. Years ago, he would have dismissed dreams, would've laughed at the idea that someone, something, was trying to tell him something. Even recently, after his battle with Organisation XII, he would've shrugged off his dreams easily.
But not long after those events, Master Yen Sid had called both him and Riku, to take...
What did that voice mean, 'The mark of mastery is failing'?
And since arriving at the Master's tower, he had been having these strange dreams. He hadn't said anything though, to anyone. Not to Yen Sid, not to King Mickey, not to Riku, not to Kairi, not to anybody.
Instead, he kept it locked inside him, quietly pondering over their meaning. The dreams were never the same, but the voice kept coming back to him and it always repeated those same 3 sentences.
He looked out of the window. The sun was rising. It was soon time for them to wake up and start their lessons; interesting lessons, but lessons nonetheless. Lessons in magic, the lore of the Keyblades; and fitness lessons, after Yen Sid showed them how inept they actually were at fighting, despite their concept of them being brilliant swordsmen.
Sora rose and swung his leg out of his bed, feeling for his slippers, deciding to get up and get some breakfast before Yen Sid started his three hour lecture on the history of the Keyblade.
