It was thanks to each other that they managed to find happiness in their lifes again.
When Hisagi closed the door to his house, it was very late, or rather - very early. The sky already had the greyish-blue color that announced the dawn nearing. It only made Hisagi feel even more exhausted. It was like that all the time since what seemed like always, and what in fact was since... ah, never mind that stupid prick, Hisagi thought, shaking his head to distract himself from the disturbing thought.
As always, he would step in carefully, trying not to make too much noise in the quiet surroundings. He would slide off his sandals and go to the bathroom to splash some cool water onto his face, so he could drag himself to the bedroom. As always, he would not look into the mirror, he knew all about the dark circles under his eyes. He wouldn't take the bath, he always did it in the morning. On his way to the bedroom, he would untie his clothing and gradually get rid of it until his only garment was his underwear. Then, he would throw himself onto the futon and fall asleep even before his head touches the pillow...
And so he did, except for the last part. Since what seemed like yesterday, and what in fact was since... the same event that made him get back home during small hours, he would slide gently into the bed and embrace the warm body that was inside. "Mornin'", Kira would mumble, having woken up. "Hello, my sweet", Hisagi would reply and they would both slowly drift into sleep. How they got together, was a mystery even for them. It seemed that the main reason was that Kira couldn't get over the... event himself, and Hisagi was the nearest one to help... and it just went on, slowly their friendship turned into something more. And moreover, the event made Kira slightly afraid of darkness, which Hisagi didn't find surprising, so would he become if he had that freak as a captain, but anyway Kira always pretended not to be afraid at all. He was so cute then.
Hisagi smiled weakly at that thought, and then he uncovered the bed but found no one there. He sighed. He knew where to look for him. He opened the door to the next room, the one that he used as some sort of a library. As expected, Kira was sleeping in the chair, dressed in his night yukata, a troubled frown on his face and a book in his hands.
The title said "Captaincy for dummies". What a stupid joke.
Hisagi crouched next to the chair and touched Izuru's hand lightly. A soft sigh escaped the blonde's lips, the frown disappeared and soon one of his eyes cracked open. He smiled seeing Shuuhei. Hisagi smiled back.
"S'ry, fell asleep when readin'...", he started to explain in a creaky voice. Hisagi put a finger on his lips, standing up.
"I think it would be more comfortable in bed", he whispered, then lifted Izuru, who made a quiet squeak at the sudden change of position. Hisagi almost threw him into the bed, feeling he would collapse out of exhaustion soon. He slid under the cover and embraced the smaller man. Finally.
