He stared into her dark blue eyes. She didn't stare back. It was too late for them. He was with Yamanaka, and she was off to the Sand. It's never going to work for the two lovers.

"Give me a chance" He pulled her closer to him, trying to hug her, but she was pulling away. Trying to make everything alright, even though it wasn't.

"I'm very sorry, Shikamaru." She looked away.

"Temari.. I love you and you love me." Shikamaru added. He pulled her face back to where it was before, his eyes both on her, never letting a glance of her go.

"I do." Her cheeks were flushed this time, she just couldn't hide it anymore.

Nara pulled her waist close to his body and locked his lips on hers. A blonde, blue-eyes girl went past, and saw what seemed to be a heartbreaking sight for her. The love of her life, her lifetime friend, her lazy ass boyfriend kissing another girl, she's definitely sure it wasn't her, even though the other girl was blonde and blue-eyes as well. Ino saw how happy he was. How his lips moved with the Sand ninja, how his hands were trying to protect Temari. It was never been like that between her and him. She walked back to where she came from.

"Goodbye Shikamaru" Ino whispered to herself, convincing herself it was over for them. It was for the good, right? He's happy, and Temari was happy too.

Temari pulled away from the romantic kiss they just had. Shikamaru's hands were on her face, held tightly, never wanting to let go. "Don't go."

Temari shook her head, "I don't want to leave, but-". He put his index finger on her lips, to silenced her.

"I'll marry you." He said with serious eyes.

Temari started tearing up after hearing what he said, was he really serious? The Shikamaru Nara that used to hate being around girls, and just thinks that girls are such a pain in the ass, just asked to marry her? Who would be stupid enought not to accept his proposal.

"I will."

At present:

"I still can't believe we're here now."

"You were so awful to me you know. Calling me lazy and stuff." he pouted.

"You know I'm just teasing you." she giggled.

"Yeah. I knew the first time I saw you that you're inlove with me." he put his arm over the blonde's shoulders.

"The Chuunin Exams? You were such a brat at that time."

"Just stop.." he said.

"Whatever."

He leaned forward to kiss his wife. She kissed back.

"I love you Shikamaru."

"I love you too, Temari."
