It was a chilly night. Sitting on the cold hard floor, I curled myself into a tight ball. Hoping everything would return to normal. A tear trickled down my cheek and landed on my sweater sleeve. I knew everything had changed between us.

"Miko-chan! How are you and Yanagi-kun? Have you guys got together already?" Shiori-chan asked me.

"Yanagi's just a very good friend of mine." I told Shiori-chan. "my only friend," I added silently.

Just then, I saw Yanagi at the door. He looks hurt. No, that came out wrong.

That scene kept haunting me. Yanagi must be mad. He looked so pale when he walked away from us. It was after he overheard what I had said. Another tear rolled down my cheek. I rocked myself back and forth. Mom's late today.

I better clear things up with Yanagi-kun.

"I'm back! Mikot- What happened to you?" Her mom was shocked to see her normally calm and collected daughter's face stained with tears streaming down. She was a mess. Instantly, Miwa embraced her daughter in her arms. It must be Yanagi. What in the world happened? She had never cried for such a long time. It must have been a huge fight.

Yanagi and Miwa met at a Café. Yanagi was shocked to find that his Mikoto had cried. All because of him. "What did I do?" He questioned himself. It must be because I left immediately after Kujou told Shiori that I was only a friend to her. It stung even though he was used to it. It always has. "I have to fix this."

"Miwa-san? Would you mind if I met up with Kujou for a bit? I have to sort things out with her." Hisato asked her politely even though his insides burned.

"Sure. Do update me if anything happens. Would you like me to pass on a message to her?"

"Hisato told Miwa the place that he and Mikoto had to meet along with the timing and day. After they confirmed it, they had to sort their feelings out next.

The day that the two friends had to meet had come. To decide whether or not they would stay friends, or if they would be more then friends.

"Yanagi? I'm sorry I did-" Mikoto was cut off by his hug.

"No, don't apologize. I just need to ask you if I am only a friend to you or if you feel more than that towards me? It's okay if we stay friends." Hisato put on a front, even though his voice faltered at the last sentence.

An awkward silence enveloped the them. Neither person spoke or moved. Mikoto just stayed in her best friend's arms. Contemplating whether she would take the risk and delve deeper than they were supposed to go. She closed her eyes and looked back into those past ten years. Yanagi had always been there for her, sticking by her side even though he has someone better to love.

And that sentence he told me since the game started.

"If I win, the victory of the last game should be the moment when I place a ring on your left hand ring finger, Kujou"

She remembered that day like it was yesterday. She steadied my breath.

"Yes, Hisato, I love you." The sentence came out. Barely audible to people around them. But, loud enough for Hisato to catch.

He hugged her tighter in his arms and she hugged him back. "Is this a dream? After ten years of games, she actually confessed her feelings to me." he whispered.

"I love you too, Mikoto" Hisato whispered just loud enough for me to hear.

A warm feeling spread through her. The two hugged each other tighter. That evening, the couple stood in the middle of a park. A park where their love was forged.
