Don't make the mistakes our friend made, his father had once told him. You'll live to regret it.

So why was he in the corner of his dormitory, shaking and crying?

Scorpius' father, Draco, had once told Scorpius a story, about a brave man, and a wonderful girl. A tale that was passed down from when his father's father was at school. Of course, he had heard the story of Lily Evans and Severus Snape. Scorpius was in his dormitory, crying, tightly gripping his robes, as he tried to stop himself crying. The tears fell thick and fast, and Scorpius gave up trying to stop them. What was the point? This was his pain escaping his body. Why had he been like Severus? Why did he say those nasty things to Rose out of anger?

Scorpius couldn't sleep that night. He knew that he had lost his Rose, as Severus had lost his Lily.

Some things were unavoidable, like making the same mistake again.
