If there was a single word to describe Vash Zwingli it would most certainly not be romantic. Nor would it be comedic, for that matter. He was serious and quiet and everything opposite his younger sister. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, it just meant… Well, it was more uncommon to catch him in the act of doing something ridiculous.

Not exactly impossible though.

"I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss…" Vash spun around, the slightest smile resting on his lips as he sang out. Lili was gone, and the house was silent. The least he could do was fill it with some sort of music. "And a prince I'm hoping comes with this…"

There was undeniably a face passing through his mind, but he chose to ignore it. Unimportant at the current time. He'd return to the thought later.

"So to spend a life of endless bliss, just find who you love, through true love's—"

"Big brother…?"

Oh.

"Lili!" Vash's arms fell quickly to his sides in some sort of military salute as he turned to face his sister, a blush deeply spread across his face. He knew Lili was punctual but…

"This isn't what you—"

"Alright." The most worrying thing that could happen with Lili was the lack of the usual cheery smile, which evaded her lips now.

"Really, I would never!"

"Yes." Her frame shrunk back through the doorway as she headed out, an awkward shuffle backwards in order to keep eye contact with her older sibling. Vash found in terrifying, but he didn't dare breaking it.

"Lili, I—"

"I understand!"

And with that, the door slammed shut, leaving a confused and embarrassed Vash standing in the after gust of air.

"What was it I was thinking about again…" He sighed, shaking his head and sulking back to his desk. Unimportant, probably. He would remember later.

"Oh, big brother, I have a surprise for you!"

Town was considerably busy, people rushing past in a multitude of directions, although it was a sort of organized chaos. Or so it seemed to the siblings, considering they had seen much worse in their lifetimes. But that didn't change the fact that it was neither the time nor place for any sort of surprise.

"Show me at home then." Switzerland shook his head and pulled the younger girl along, a scowl pointed straight ahead as per usual. The faster they got home, the less protesting there would be.

"But, Vash, it must be done outside!"

"Lili, honestly, we don't have time for th—"

"How does he know that you love him?"

Vash paused in the middle of the busy walkway, raising an eyebrow. He felt a nagging that there was something he was forgetting, but it was—as always—ignored.

"Excuse me?"

"How does he know he's yours?"

The street erupted as soon as she began the song. Random passerbyers joined in when they could, patting Vash's arm in encouragement and throwing out a smile, all while he screamed and protested.

"Who is this he!?"

"He's your love!"

"I am both confused and frightened by your suggestions, Liechtenstein!"

By the end of the number, Vash looked as if he had been attacked by an overly friendly dog, and he was more confused than ever.

"Big brother, don't act as if you don't know."

"I don't!"

In all honestly, he wasn't consciously aware. But for whatever reason, at the next meeting, his heart skipped a beat when they passed Austria. He swore he saw Lili smile, but then again, that wasn't unusual. A thought nagged at him again, but he ignored it. This time, a bit more consciously than before. Love was unimportant after all. Or so he told himself, at least.

"How does he know?"

"He doesn't."
