Hogwarts: House Cup
"Oh shut it Rebeus." Minerva McGonagall yelled. The colossal man made a whimpering sound, surprised by the woman's outburst. "I thought you should kn- "Rebeus Hagrid was cut off. The Transfiguration teacher ranted about how she didn't want to know her house was losing for the House Cup. Albus Dumbledore sighed, wondering how their faculty meeting got to this point. The four House leaders argued about giving extra points to students in their house. Severus Snape, House Head of Slytherin, is accused more than once on this subject. The teachers who weren't house heads watched with only a hint of interest. Madam Pomfrey, Hogwarts's nurse, stares at the four, slightly confused. Professor Binns sits by the table, sound asleep. Dumbledore decides he's had enough, "Everyone please continue your quarrel elsewhere." As the professors exit the room, the warlock walks down the corridor to his office. "Lemon Drop" Albus states to the gargoyles, allowing his entry. "They are so competitive!" Dumbledore thinks aloud, already in his office. His phoenix, Fawkes, replies with a caw. The headmaster stares at the majestic bird, having a silent conversation with himself. Somehow he comes up with a solution that will change the teacher's attitudes.
Days later, in the faculty lounge, almost every professor was yelling at him. "This is ridiculous!" "How does this help?" came from the teachers. Hagrid was happy to be the new head of Gryffindor, but McGonagall wasn't too happy with the new arrangements. "What do you mean, switch jobs!?" Albus stared at the woman, wondering if that was a rhetorical question. His arrangements included all the employees switching jobs at Hogwarts School. The new headmaster was Professor Flitwick, the new gamekeeper was McGonagall, so basically everyone had flip-flopped. Flitwick and Dumbledore switched, so did McGonagall and Hagrid, Snape and Trelawney, Sprout and Pince, and Filch and Hooch. This new insane idea of the headmaster, well now Charms teacher, was well... insane.
As much as the staff thought they suffered, the students had it worse. Although it was fun teaching your teacher the first few days, it was a pain when you wanted to actually learn something. Transfiguration class was now one of the worst, considering Hagrid didn't have a wand. A month later and things were getting difficult. Dumbledore no longer had the ability to switch things back, and Flitwick was enjoying the power. All the faculty were yelling at Albus, but he said it was all Flitwick's decision.
"I'VE HAD ENOUGH!" bellowed Snape. The Potions teacher ran to the Headmasters office, shouting the new password. "CHARMS!" He was yelling at the teacher within seconds, when Flitwick finally gave in. "Did you really think I was going to keep this up forever, anyway I miss my old job!" A shower of cheers came from behind the door. Severus walks over very quietly and opens the door so fast the faculty that was eavesdropping fell through the door. "Sorry" said an ashamed McGonagall. Professor Trelawney insisted she predicted this coming, but no one believed her.
" I WIN, I WIN" screams McGonagall. Students and teachers in the room look at her, surrounded by gold and red. "I mean that Gryffindor wins, not me." She corrects herself sheepishly. Minerva looks around the room surrounded by angry faces, from her fellow teachers, and the students in her house. Dumbledore raises an eyebrow, interested to see what happens next.
Proffesor Dumbledore dotted the final period with his quill. "This will be great to post on that fanfiction site!" he thought aloud.
