Thank you for the kind reviews! I appreciate them very much. This is pretty self-explanatory, as long as you can get the metaphors. But those are pretty obvious.
Watch for sudden change of speaker.
I imagine this to be a twisted version of the "lecture" from episode 108.
Don't ask why nothing is capitalized. I don't know, myself. It's just the way it wrote itself. (Agh! No more rhyming!)
One last thing. I claim to be a professional poet by no means. I know it's rough, and in some spots it doesn't quite flow right, but it's still my baby. So please be kind to it. It's too young to defend itself.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the poem. I don't even own the metaphors…
I changed the line that said "by my hand, by my sword alone" to make it flow better. So now it's the only line in the entire poem that doesn't have eight syllables. Stupid flow.

Ode to a Wingless Raven
-------------------------------
said the scarecrow to the raven,
'we're not so different after all.
though i'm master, and you are small,
we've both known grief and felt the fall.
-
'but if you're swallowed by a snake,
succumbing to imagined fate,
i will not know you any more
and i'll be strong and you'll be poor.
-
'why don't you stay a while with me?
and then together we shall see
how strong we can be, you and i,
when we forget the hate inside.'
-
'i cannot forget the grief inside,
nor family falling!' raven cried.
'you do not know of what you speak,
or how forgetting makes me weak.
-
'without this fire in my heart,
all is forgotten in the dark.
they scream, they cry, they plead for me
to deal revenge for their red sea.
-
'imagined not, my lonely fate,
this road paved by and borne of hate.
and if you now will hinder me,
no more a raven will i be.'
-
'sharp fangs, cold scales, and yellow eyes
can only lead to your demise.'
'i know for me is nothing more
should i walk through the white snake's door.
-
'i know that at the end I'll be
alone again, except for he
who stripped me of my wings so small
and took away my future all.
-
'but if i see his blood at last
fall raining on the verdant grass,
by my hand, my sword alone,
then i should count my sins atoned.
-
'and though be nothing more for me,
avenged shall be their blood red sea.
and then i shall just fade away,
no more to darken light of day.'
-
and scarecrow knew, long lost was he
who pure again could never be.
and scarecrow wept, for far from home
that broken heart would ever roam.
