Asami paused while buttoning up his crisp white dress shirt, sitting on the edge of the bed to watch his sleeping boy. The last rays of sunlight glimmered through the curtains, warm tendrils of light stretching across the floor and up the bed to rest on the sleeping form there. Akihito's pale skin seemed to capture the soft light, hold it captive, making him seem ethereal lying there twisted in the pale sheets. A creature of light, radiant and beautiful; able to burn through the shadows and push away the clouds. He reached a hand out, fingers brushing along the smooth, parted lips. He had most definitely been blinded by this creature of the light, burned to his very core. Tearing his gaze away, he finished dressing and headed out the door. Stepping into the elevator, his thoughts drifted back to Akihito and he smiled, a true, genuine smile; his Akihito, his own golden sunbeam, to hold close to his heart as he descended into the darkness of his world.
