Disclaimer: I do not own harvest moon, just the story idea. This is set in the sunshine islands
I am the rancher here on the sunshine islands. I was told a week after I arrived that I'd have to raise a bunch of sunken islands that had been sunken in a terrible storm a long time ago. I have raised several islands so far and today I am going to raise Mystic Island. I was told that 2 powerful beings lived there, so I was curious about it.
This was my second year of being here and I found that getting sunstones was both hard and easy at the same time. Sometime I just found them, like in a bush and in my windmill. Then I had to become friends with ALL the islanders, because most had found one, but wanted to know me before giving me the stone.
I finished harvesting my crops. It was spring, so I had a bunch of turnips, cucumbers, and a few strawberries that Felicia had given me. I tossed all but a few of each into my shipping bin and went down to the dock.
"Hey there Chelsea. Want to go to Meadow island today?" Kirk greeted me as I walked up.
"Yeah. I finally got another 12 sunstones so I want to raise Mystic Island" I said.
"Alright now. Here we go!"
The boat docked and I went to stand in front of the shrine that was there. Agete the sprite popped up behind me like usual.
"Hi Chelsea! What can I do for you today?" he piped up.
"I want to raise Mystic island today. Here you go." I said, handing him the stones.
"Alright. It will be just a moment."
And with that Meadow island shook like an earthquake and I could see a new island appear in the distance.
"See you later." I said. He vanished and I headed to the dock where Kirk was waiting.
I hopped into the boat and Kirk drove me to the new island.
When I got out I looked around. There were 2 small islands connected by a short bridge. One island was shaped like a bear head with a bare patch of land in the middle and not much else. The other was roundish and had a small pond taking up the majority of the island. I went to the first one and gathered up all the debris I could see, making lumber and material stone as I went. As I went to the second one, my stomach growled so I decided to eat a few strawberries.
I sat next to the pond and grabbed one out, but it fell in the dirt.
I grumbled to myself for a moment about being clumsy, then I picked it up and dunked it in the pond to wash off the dirt. Suddenly my fruit disappeared!
A green haired woman appeared in a flash of light.
"Dum-Da-Da-DAA! I am the goddess of this spring. Make me an offering and good things might happen." said the Harvest Goddess.
"..." I look at her like shes crazy.
"You look like you have something to say, Chelsea." I'm shocked that she knows my name. She just giggled and continued talking.
"I'm the Harvest Goddess. There's nothing I can't do and nothing I don't know. Chelsea, I also know that you'll continue to make me offerings."
"..." I'm speechless for a moment.
"Don't be shy! I'll be waiting for you! See ya!" with that she starts to fade out.
"WAIT JUST A MINUTE!" I finally find my voice and she turns around with a questioning face.
"I was not giving you an offering just now! My fruit just dropped in the dirt so I was washing it off and YOU stole it! I want it back!"
"Bu-but strawberries are my favorite gifts." she says with a sniffle.
I sigh in frustration. I've always tried to give everybody their favorite gifts whenever I could. It gets hard to do that everyday.
"Fine. You can keep it. What other things do you like?"
"I really like most flowers and crops! But I hate garbage!" she tells me with a frown. I nodded my understanding and decided that I would only give her enough gifts to get her sunstone, if she had one.
She is one very annoying person.
