A letter for Faramir
Firstly, I'd like to thank Frodo's sister's review of my story "A little help". It was my first review, so it was really special.
Before I begin, I'd just like to make a little point clear. I've always liked to think Lothiriel was close to Faramir. So in this story, I've made Lothiriel leave Dol Amroth and come to Minas Tirith, as she is interested in healing to train in the houses of Healing. This idea has been inspired by the way; please do check out her stories. They're brilliant!
English is not my first language. Please excuse any grammatical errors! Reviews will be greatly appreciated, especially if they can leave me tips to improve!
ENJOY! :-)
DISCLAIMER- LOTR is Tolkien's. Only this is mine.
...
To Faramir,
Son of Denethor, son of Ecthelion,
Captain of the Ithilien rangers.
Dearest Faramir,
Eru, I've been missing you terribly. Is everything alright? Are you keeping well?
Spring has come to Minas Tirith. I think of you whenever I chance to look outside, for the weather is just as you like it, pleasant, not hot, not cold, the air carrying the fragrance of blooming flowers. Yet now my heart begins to long for the white sands of Dol Amroth, to hear the crash of the waves against the beach. I cannot leave now, for I fear that if I go in the midst of this malady, I fear I will not be able to return. So I must bear it, best as I can.
Amrothos has ridden to Tirith with Elphir, giving me no warning, of course. They speak as if it is a daily matter to be risen in the morning at the call of brothers who are supposed to be a couple of thousand miles away.
Faramir, I do not jest when I say you have all of us as worried as Boromir is when Uncle asks him to attend a council meeting. You, Cousin are working entirely too hard. So come home for a rest before Boromir comes to Ithilien and drags you to Tirith .I am only just able to restrain him, as it is. Rest for a little while, Mir, if only to set our minds at ease. Then go wherever you want to go, feel free to lead as many patrols as you wish, and I will cease plaguing you.
Are you taking care of yourself? You hardly ever do. I beg of you, Mir, return at least once to the citadel in a state that will not give me nightmares for months. Do take care of yourself, since I'm not there to do it for you.
Ride safe, come home soon, make sure you get enough rest, and don't pay any attention to Uncle.
With all the love there is to give,
Your Thiriel.
