It was a cold, cold day. Clouds blocked the sun creating a looming shadow over the island as the sun began to set. As I stared at the faces looking down at me, everyone had tears streaming down their faces, luckily no one looked hurt. Yet, I felt it was wrong, I felt I need to get up and say I'm okay, Stop crying! And smile in the usual way that made my guild mates cheery and rowdy. But my body refused to listen. Not a single muscle would respond to my desperate pleas.

'Get Up! Move!'

… But to no avail… I was numb and my body felt heavy. I tried to yell at the top of my lungs, move. Yet all that escaped my lips was a small heavy cough that caused their tear filled eyes around me to change from sadness to despair as they knew as well as I did; I was going to die.

Blood flooded my mouth as I muster all my remaining strength for some final words. Swallowing the blood, I struggle to make a cheeky smirk and say

"G-Gu…ys… I… Won…."

… Feeling the tension absolve from my body, the numbness takes over completely. The cold feeling was not present like the first time; this was a warm sensation, a very welcoming feeling.

. . .

The sounds of mourning filled the island. The burning trees were silenced with rain and thunder. Tears began to blend with the rain, yet they still wept and wept. No one could do anything but weep in an attempt to cope with the loss of their team mate.

Gildarts held his daughter tightly as she cried for the boy who protected them from the beast that took her father's arm and leg, while Gildarts silently looked to the sky as tears ran down his cheeks for the loss of what felt like a son. Memories of the forest where they bonded and memories of how the boy would never fulfill his promise of surpassing him rooted themselves to his heart and made him regret not helping the boy enough in the fight against the beast.

Mira embraced Lisanna as she knew how much they boy meant to her. Lisanna felt empty as the boy she knew from childhood, the boy who she knew to be strong and unbeatable was gone and cold. She felt weak and her eyes seemed devoid of feeling; the only thing keeping her in reality was the cold touch of the rain and the sound of her sister whimpering when she tries to talk in an attempt to reassure her little sister.
