The Chosen One

Summary- Toshiko Sato is Ianto Jones best friend and also his roommate. What she doesn't know that he has been a vampire since the beginning of time. How will she and the Torchwood team react when they find out about Ianto and his double life, one side being a vampire and other being a lawyer?

Note: I have yet again used the flat set in Friends. Tosh and Ianto live where Monica and Rachael lived, and Owen and Jack lived where Joey and Chandler lived.

Toshiko looked at her best friend Ianto Jones, sighing for the third time. "Come, for once I have the whole weekend off, you are in London Monday to Friday and only here on weekends, I just want to spend some time with my best friend." She explained.

Ianto looked up from his bowl of cereal looking at Tosh and said "you said you wanted to spend time with me, yet you invited your work colleagues to come round tonight, so you can introduce me. That does not sound like to best friends hanging out, it sounds like hell."

"Look, I know you are crap at socialising, but my boss is really good looking and interested in guys. So-."

But she was cut off by Ianto, "wait hang on, this is now gone from us to hanging out, then to me meeting your other friends and now to a date with boss?"

Tosh rolled her eyes and sat down at the table and then said "it is not a set up, but you haven't had a boyfriend since Peter, but it doesn't have to be anything serious, it could be just for fun. My boss likes fun."

Ianto got up and put his bowl in the sink while saying "so do your friends have names?"

"Gwen Cooper, she has big eyes, and she is Welsh, Owen Harper, who you have met briefly, because he lives across the hall from us, with his roommate and boss, Captain Jack Harkness." Tosh listed happily.

He nodded, "I am going to grab a shower, before you go in, and you take ages to wash." He said making his way to the bathroom.

"You can't, the shower is broken, remember. I am sure Jack will let you use his if you ask nicely." Tosh said quickly.

Ianto groaned. He then went to go grab his wash stuff, towel, and his clothes to get changed into. He came and left. Ianto knocked on the door, hoping that no one would answer; he was not a fan of talking to people. For all the years he would think he would be able to socialise but he still felt uncomfortable around people. Tosh said he could be too blunt.

To his dislike Jack answered the door, "hi."

"Hi, mine and Tosh's shower is broken, she said it would be okay to use yours." Ianto explained, not wanting to talk to the man for long. Even though Ianto thought he was good looking, he knew that Jack would drive him crazy because Jack would be so up himself due to his good looks.

Jack replied "sure, Tosh has been using it for the past few weeks. Go ahead." Gesturing him in and showing him to the bathroom.

"Thanks, I won't be long." Ianto said quickly making his way to the bathroom.

Half an hour later Ianto had finished in the bathroom, he walked out finding Owen, Jack and Tosh talking away happily at the little table. Ianto tried to walk past them, but Tosh stopped him by saying, "this is Jack and Owen, I have known them for a while."

Ianto looked at them and smiled saying, "Nice to meet you, Tosh has told me a bit about you guys."

Jack looked Ianto up and down, he was wearing fitted demine dark jeans, a black t shirt and trainers. He did look pretty hot, Jack thought, I wonder what it would look like to fuck him. He silver blue eyes, stood out from his pale skin.

"I will see you this evening then." Ianto said, leaving the apartment and shutting the door behind him. Jack happily watched him leave.

Owen sniggered, watching Jack staring at the door. "He is straight." He stated.

"No he is not, he has had boyfriends." Tosh corrected him, "but don't get your hopes too high Jack, Ianto is not looking for a boyfriend, he is looking for fun." She explained to Jack.

Ianto pushed his way through the vampires in the club, trying to get to the VIP section. Finally he managed to get through the crowd. The blond man on the couch waved at the guard to let Ianto through.

"Hello, Ianto, long time no see." The blond man said, he had pale skin like Ianto's, he had bleached blond, and handsome features. "Sit down." He said, gesturing to the seat opposite him.

Ianto obliged and took the seat, "any news on the target James?" He asked, wanting to get straight to the point.

James shook his head, "sadly no, but we are getting closer."

"I am tired of just sitting around; I have been for the past year, if I don't get a target by the end of next week I am leaving." And with he left.

When Ianto got back to his apartment he found, Tosh, Jack, Owen and two other people sitting in the living room. "Great two more people who I don't want to talk to talk." He thought.

"Hello Ianto." Tosh said happily, standing up, "you have met, Jack and Owen, this is Gwen and her boyfriend Rhys." She said gesturing to the two new people, who were Gwen and Rhys.

Ianto looked at the time, it was only 12, and Tosh said her friends weren't coming round till six. "You guys are really early."

"We had nothing to do, so we thought we come round here. I mean, I hope we aren't stopping you from doing anything." Jack said, looking up from the newspaper to look at Ianto.

"No." Ianto simply replied, "I was just going to go out for a walk." Making his way to the door but was stopped.

"You just came back." Owen commented.

"I had to go see a friend." Ianto quickly replied, and turned back to the door hoping to leave.

Once again he failed, "do you want to go get a coffee, I mean just me and you, if that is okay?" Jack asked.

"Sure why not." Ianto said, only wanting to be kind.

"Great, I will just go and grab my coat." Jack said, standing up and walking past Ianto to his apartment. Ianto followed, shutting the door behind him.

Jack and Ianto sat in the coffee shop; they weren't really saying anything to each other. "You know, you didn't have to say yes to coming with me for a coffee. I can tell that you don't want to be here." Jack said, breaking the long silence.

Ianto looked up from his coffee and said "I was being kind."

"Right, you are not a fan of people are you?" He asked with a smile.

"It is not that I am a fan of people, I just like taking to people that much. I am better off alone." Ianto replied, weirdly finding it easy to talk to Jack.

"Why?" Jack asked simply.

"My past, now, secrets, it is easier not to get close to people, distance myself from them. I prefer that way." He replied, not sure why he was telling Jack this, he only met the guy this morning.

Jack looked at Ianto, "he will get closer to Ianto Jones, even if it kills him," he thought.
