A/N: WOOT! I have redeemed myself! Finally, my own Diana/Dan story that I've been dying to get out. So, Dan this is for you and J. Robert Spencer since he completely rocked out in Jersey Boys. I love Oh What A Night. It's my favorite Jersey Boys/Four Seasons song thats what I picked it. This can be a mirror fic to my "Henry as Mark" fic but can stand on its own too.
Oh What A Night:
By: LOSTrocker
Dan was cleaning up after dinner. He decided it was too quiet and thought some music would do some good. He went to the small radio on the counter, found one of his favorite oldies stations, and smiled when a familiar tune came on. He couldn't help but sing along.
"Oh what a night
Late December back in 63
What very special time for me
As I remember what a night..."
Diana was upstairs checking on her children when she heard the music. She was curious and followed it back into the kitchen where she saw her husband singing and dancing along to the oldie but goodie as he cleaned up. She smiled, and tried very hard not to laugh. She didn't want to make her presence known just yet. Diana was having too much fun enjoying the show. She only wished she had Natalie's camera to capture it so she could blackmail him with it later.
It was only when Dan went to turn around to put the silverware up when he noticed his wife standing there. He froze and went red and quickly went to turn off the radio but Diana stopped him.
"Please, don't let me stop you." she urged him with a smile
Dan always did have a hard time telling his wife no. Besides, it was fun. He felt like a kid again. Then again he could remember a time or two back in the day when they went cruising around town belting out a love tune to her. Why stop now? So, Dan went on.
It wasn't long before Diana was tapping her foot along with the beat and singing along too. After all this one was a classic. Dan slide up to her and too her in his arms. He swirled her about in the kitchen hoping not to knock her into anything in the process.
Diana felt dizzy but not in a bad way. It was a feeling she almost forgot she had. She suddenly missed being in Dan's arms. It was like they were 25 again.
Upstairs, Natalie was trying to sleep. Of course, the keyword here was trying. It was hard since her dad had the radio on. She laughed herself. "And they tell me to keep it down." Natalie slipped out of bed and went to go downstairs to give them a stern talking to like they did with her. Hey, fair was fair. Yet when she got there and saw them dancing she couldn't bring herself. They looked so happy. So normal, and that was a rare thing indeed. Natalie leaned herself on the kitchen's door frame and smiled. She was taking this all in. She would like one good memory of her parents and if this was it then she would take it.
Dan didn't even notice Natalie was there at all. All he could see was Diana.
END.
