Jack awoke from his chrysalis of ice, it broke and fell away in shining, glittering shards that reflected the rising sun throwing bright pinks and oranges across the walls of his room. The only way to sleep he thought to himself as he stretched his arms to get the blood flowing again. He reached out and grabbed his wooden staff, using the crook to open the window and let the cold winter air blow in.
About time, I feel like I've been sleeping for a year. He stretched again for good measure and stood up from his now broken and melting ice bed. He checked the time from the clock on the wall. He gasped as he realized he had slept a whole 3 hours late. Elsa is going to kill me, I slept through our date! Quickly he got dressed and ran to the window.
The shimmering fields of snow, nearly blinding in their brilliance, with only the slightest hesitation he dove out the window and let the wind take him, ice crystals hung around the gusts of wind as he soared, dipping and diving with the wind, spoiling the perfect flat plane of frozen glory. Letting his staff drag through the snow making a perfect line that sunk down, the burst out into a shower of snow that sent drifts of fluffy snow in both directions.
Somewhere along the way the snow had given way to fields of flowers and grass. No longer were the rare trees snow capped but now in bloom, apples, think and deep red, hung from the trees. The sounds of birds chirping seemed to catch his gusts of wind and travel with him. The ice crystals that accompanied him melted and turned to water that fell and watered the grounds. Soon the wild fields fell away to cultivated farms and than they were gone. Replaced by the large stone wall and quaint cottages that lined the streets of the kingdom that he knew so well.
Without so much as a moment's breath he blew himself into the window that lead to the Queen's bed chamber. "I'm so sorry Elsa I overslept and i wi-." He cut himself as he took in the room, he saw a lump lying in the 4 poster bed that he too had spent many a nights in. The lump gently rose and fell, the sound of soft breathing filled the air where his words left off. SHE IS STILL ASLEEP!
