Another original Thomas story, this time, it's "Paint Problems" told in Toby's POV, which is set after the season 9 episode "Toby Feels Left Out" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

I was feeling grander than ever.

Why you may ask?

Because I wasn't being being placed in the museum.

And that made me feel grand.

Anyway, I was on my way home from the museum with my coach Henrietta, when I heard some voices laughing. It was James and Percy.

They were talking about their new paint.

Usually, I just give them a ring of my bell, but I wanted to know what they were talking about, so I stop and listened.

"My red paint is the best paint on Sodor!" boasted James. "There's no engine grander than me!"

I saw that Percy was becoming more cross with Percy.

"Stop boasting about your paint James!" said Percy. "I've heard enough."

"But it's grand!" continued James. "Unlike your green paint, which always get dirty since you shunt dirty freight cars."

Now Percy was crosser than ever.

"Stop it.! You get dirty more than me! You're the dirtiest engine on Sodor!"

Now I knew that James loved his red paint, as red is his favorite color, and Percy was just teasing him. I didn't want them to lose their friendship.

The fighting kept going on, as I left.

Next morning, I went to see Thomas. He looked concerned.

"James and Percy aren't talking to each other." said Thomas. "Something must be going wrong."

Then I remembered what happened last night.

"They were fighting about their paint." I explained to Thomas.

"Well, we better go see what's going on."

So we set off to find James and Percy.

And when we found them, they were still fighting.

"That's enough fighting you two." said Thomas.

"But Percy says I'm the direst engine of all!" said James.

"I want to settle this fair and square." said Thomas. "Percy should apologize to James."

Percy turned to James.

"James. I know you boast a lot about your red paint, but it makes me annoyed. I know you like it too, but you really shouldn't boast about, especially to me. That makes me and other engines cross."

"Alright Percy." said James. "I'll try my hardest not to boast about my paint again."

Percy smiled, and so did James.

I was glad that they were friends again, and so did Thomas.

However, I hope James keeps on his promise, don't you?
