Isabel Night
Do you know how easy it would be?
For me to close my eye
To weave a web,
Spin a dream,
Then slip into a lie
I could say that this is just an illusion
That this ceremony
Is all in my mind
Yet, Hardrock stands right next to me
The one I toyed with--
Now comforts my cries
"You can stay with us, if you like"
"That is okay, we will be fine"
"Are you sure? You don't sound like it."
"This wound will eventually heal...in time."
"How? By burying it deep?"
"Why would I bury it?"
"You've been upset all day."
"I am a warrior; I can control my emotions."
"You're missing the point; grief doesn't sprout wings and fly away."
What does he know of sorrow?
Has he seen a loved one die?
If I bury it deep
I will not feel a thing
If I deny it
It will take to the sky
So, what does he see that I do not?
My once brash enemy
At this moment--
Standing by my side
Perhaps I will take up his offer
With laced good memories
Forever burning in my mind
