He walked out onto the battle field, fearless. His eyes sparkled with excitement. The rest of his fleet was following suit to him, though not as excitably as he was. I rolled my eyes at him, he knew not to be so excited. In the distance, the other army was marching toward his fleet. I tried to distract myself from the on coming fleet. I settled on Yero's sharp blue eyes. They always made me smile. The other fleet stopped halfway down the field. Fiyero yelled his battle cry "FOR FAAAAAEEE!!!!" as he ran, gun cocked and ready for action. The others yelled their battle cries and ran also. The drummer boy started his drumming, signaling for open fire. A single blast rang out across the field. Fiyero fell with blood running from his "wound." I ran out on cue.
"YEROOO!"I yelled as I ran out to him. This was supposed to be the sad part of the re-enactment. After Fiyero and I went through the Dragon Clock, we ended up in modern day Vermont. We were able to elope, find stable jobs as restaurant owners, and find a little cottage to fix up. After we settled in we found out there was a re-enactment group, we decided to join(we did our research on American History). We were always cast as the star couple, not that we minded. Now as I tried to stop the bleeding from his "wound" I saw how good Fiyero was at his work.
"Yero, don't leave me, not here, not now." I said, with tears running from my eyes.
"Fae, I would never leave you, not with our child coming, if I did than I would never be able to say I had a wife that loved me enough to give me a child." He whispered. "But you have to promise me that if I do die today you will always tell our child of our love and their father." He said.
"Yero, I promise, I will tell them no matter what happens." I promised. Fiyero gave a dramatic last breath and went limp in my arms. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" I yelled as I cried over his "dead" body. "WHAT IS THE COST? WHAT IS THE COST OF THIS WAR THAT WE NOW FIGHT?!?" I yelled at no one in particular. I looked up at our re-enactment manager seeing how we did.
"Perfect guys! Absolutely perfect." He said as he walked towards us. "We'll blow the public off their feet with this performance. Don't be late! The show starts at six sharp." He told us. Fiyero got up and gave me quick kiss on the cheek. "Come on Tom you know we'd never be late." Fiyero moaned as he tried to catch me as I ran from him, teasingly. "Fae, it's very difficult to kiss you if you won't stop running."
"But what if I like running?" I yelled to him as I ran faster "What if I like watching you sweat?" I cackled. Everyone got out of my way, they knew I would at some point trip or slow down. I did the first one. Stupid pebbles, always getting in the way of my foot. So I fell down the hill, Yero following close behind, ready to grab when I stopped rolling. When I finally stopped rolling Yero grabbed me by the waist and kissed me gently at first but soon intensifying it slightly. We didn't get far before some of the others started making catcalls at us. We broke apart as Fiyero whispered in my ear "I always catch my Wicked Witch." I chuckled as I said "And I always put you under my spell." We kissed again. Our lives couldn't have been happier.
