Authors Comments: I thought that in the third book Eragon was being a little bit heartless to Murtagh so I wrote this poem. READ AND REVIEW!!!! P.S- It is Murtagh's Point-Of-View in the poem so he is the one telling it
Murtagh's Pain
Where did you go when I was in need?
Why did you leave when I felt to grieve?
Why must you give up so fast?
The world is in need and it's far too vast,
To be forgotten and never to last
I gave you my trust,
I showed you my pain,
I gave you my friendship,
But never again,
You let me fall back,
And then you attacked,
Without a heart to see,
Or to even listen to me
You wouldn't listen,
Not even to try,
To see it my way,
You'd rather see me die,
Can't you see?
That the truth is,
You're no better than me.
So this is what I say,
That when you forget,
Then there is no other way,
Why must we stab?
With our hurt and shame,
In the truth,
We are the ones to blame.
Trust meant something once,
So did loyalty,
But now they mean nothing,
Where once they were Royalty
Perhaps you will see,
That one day it's me,
That all I ever wanted,
Was to be your friend,
And to be free.
