Something to Live For
Everything about today was elegant. The decorations, the food, Fluer's wedding gown, the love was elegant. Certainly, no one had ever felt such happiness ever before. It's the most ironic thing. During the midst of a war, one realizes how to acquire peace.
Every single person attending this wedding was having fun. Well, not fun exactly, they were feeling…carefree. Harry had even smiled a few times. Once when Ron was dancing like a complete idiot just to make Hermione laugh, at some things Fred and George said, and when Ginny came walking down the aisle looking like a goddess.
Mrs. Weasley was holding her husband's hand, teary eyed, while admiring the newly weds. Ginny was dancing with a cousin of Fluer's, a right git in Harry's opinion. But even when the rain began to fall, hardly anyone went inside. Lupin laughed heartily and held Tonk's close. Fred and George were creating waterballs with their wands and throwing them at Hermione whom was kissing Ron lightly on the neck. But she didn't care. Harry gazed across at this celebration and made a promise to himself that this feeling wouldn't end today, he would let it come back.
He got up from his seat and took off his jacket. He ran across the grass, receiving odd glances from some onlookers, and jumped into the pond headfirst. He surface and heard Ginny laughing. She ran in and joined him, the dress she was wearing cost a fortune, but he doubted Fluer cared about things like that much anymore. He smiled and looked around at his friends in the water, then up at the pouring sky. He opened his eyes and let the water burn him, cleanse him. He wasn't going to ruin this. He was going to save this kind of day. The day when elegance wasn't something you had to work for.
