Prim's POV
It's a dark and cold. I hear foot steps. Katniss must be up and, getting ready to go hunting. "Katniss" I moan.
"Yes, little duck?" Katniss whispers. She slowly walks over to me not making a sound. I guess all those year in the wood paid off.
"I'm scared." I whisper.
"It is ok you will be fine, but I have to go."
She kisses my forehead and scurries off to go get our meal. I roll over close my eyes slowly drifting back to sleep.
...
"Prim... Prim honey... Prim you have to wake up. " my mother whispers. I let out a long moan and open my eyes. "Ok honey I drew you a bath, go wash up before you sister gets home." I swing my feet out of bed and walk down stairs to the one and only bathroom. Our house is small it has one bath room a small kitchen, a little family room, and upstairs 2 bedrooms one that Katniss and I share and one that my mom uses. As I finish my bath I grab one of the towels and head up stairs.
I walk in to my room to see are nice ironed dress sitting on Katniss and my bed. I slowly walk over running my hand over the clean smooth fabric. "It for you. My daughter can't look bad for her first reaping."
" but mom this is..."
"Yes," she finishes my sentence "from my days in town."
"Thank you mom soooo much." I grab my mother and pull her in for a big hug.
I pull the dress over my head. BANG! The door slams shut, Katniss is home. I walk over to the small mirror hanging on the wall, and comb my fingers through my hair. Beautiful I tell myself and skip down stairs. Sitting down my mother brings over some bread
"Freshly made today," I give her a questing look. My mother never makes bread "Katniss traded a squirrel for it."
"Oh ok." Suddenly Katniss appeared. She was wearing a nice blue dress that must be from when mom lived in town. Katniss came over to me and started to put my hair in its signature 2 braids. Mother to Katniss's hair and put it up in a braid twist. She look beautiful. After our small breakfast was finished we headed out. "You two look beautiful," mother said. Those were the last word she said to me before the reaping.
