A Confusing Love
One may call Javert a crime-hunter, searching for the ever-elusive Jean Vajean. Eponine was different. Being the daughter of innkeepers, she was used to being pampered. Two opposites can attract, especially with these two having had met in the barricades. One may say that they had romantic feelings for each other, while some will say that all they felt was hatred against each other.
When Jean Vajean had just broken out from prison, Eponine had yet to be born. But the whole city knew, and went on military siege to attempt to block him out. He never came. Around two years after that, Eponine was born as the first daughter of the Thénardiers. As her parents were wealthy, they spoiled her. A year later, when Azelma was born, Eponine and Azelma were both spoiled by the parents.
When Javert had turned to a life of hunting the most "dangerous" criminal of their time, Eponine had turned to helping her parents with their crooked ways, including punching out a window to appear more poor, on her father's orders. One day, these two souls had met, and there was no getting rid of them from cooling the fire inside of their hearts.
Eponine, dressed as a boy, helped as to become close to Marius. Javert had dropped out of the barricades. After Eponine saved Marius' life, she asked him this: "Never mind Cosette and Javert. When I die, kiss me on the forehead."
The gunshot that had ended Eponine's life also ended Javert's, as so he could truly be with her.
