AN: You might want to read at least one of my previous works involving Alyssa Potter to get a better understanding on her background. I also highly recommend listening to the song while reading this, especially the version done by Jackie Evancho. Thank you!

The agonizing pain finally stopped. She opened her eyes, which were no longer wet with tears, to a beautiful shining white light. Soft music sounded, reminding her strongly of the old geezer's phoenix. She had never felt so tranquil and free before in her life. She was heading to a new place. A new place that she could never deserve in her life because of what she had done. But yet it seemed that Death was willing to forgive her.

People in her life always had the option of forgiveness. The amount of people who had forgiven her for her deeds had been so much higher than she ever expected. Some had pitied her for she had been lost in the psychological mess her relatives had dumped her in when she was a child. She had been left broken, lonely, bitter, angry, and violent. And now…she was free. Free from the burden of a damaged life. She had found her way. She was no longer blind to the things she was missing.

But even though she was forgiven and freed, for the first time in her life, she felt true fear. Voldemort had not really scared her; she had been fully determined to wipe him from the plane of existence. When she had killed Bellatrix Lestrange, she had been fully prepared for everyone to get as far away from her as possible. They never did; her true friends had stayed with her until the end. But she left them. The people she was coming to were never going to forgive her for her final act. Death may have been forgiving, but they most likely were not going to be so. But even so, if Death was able to forgive her, maybe they could too. Possibly.

During her life, she had gone through a lot. Her adolescence and even a bit of her childhood had been filled with dangers, toils, and snares. But she had managed to overcome them all and here she was. She was forgiven, and she was brought safe here. And now, for the first time ever, she was finally going to her true home.

It was really all because of her mother's sacrifice. She had been promised good to her, even though it really was not. Then Hogwarts had given her hope for a better life, and it was (somewhat). Magic had become her shield and portion. It had all lasted for the rest of her life. When she had finally died, she went beyond the Veil and started her journey towards a life of joy and peace; a life of something she had needed for a long time.

The years would spin away without knowledge. The sun would shine endlessly. The number of days left would never change from the day she first started. It would be the afterlife.

It would be something that Alyssa Potter had always wanted since the beginning.

AN 2: An interpretation to the song stated about how grace was "undeserved forgiveness." I thought that this would be perfect for Alyssa since she was not exactly…someone moralistic. Even so, she was still a good person deep down. It was more like her reasonings were bit screwed up and so was her impulse control. Gotta love the Dursleys, right? Once again, reviews are greatly appreciated and I give thanks in advanced to anyone who does!
