Disclaimer - All characters in Demon's Crest belong to Capcom. If they decided to let me have the characters in this fantastic game, however, they can be sure that they'll have a good home (Haha, I wish!)! :D
Behind the screams, behind all the disorder; behind all the chaos that surrounded him…
Behind everything going about right now, a solitary demon strummed the strings of an instrument ransacked from its former owner, a human minstrel whose remains now lay lifeless on the pebbles of the town square, the only crime committed by him was simply being in the way. At one point the demon himself used to play music of all emotions, entertaining other demons and earning just enough to put bread on the table. But ever since the Civil War he gave up the strings for the crests and their knowledge of the elements, in hopes that they could help him find a better life for himself. It was a worthless quest; although he eventually managed to learn what their powers and purposes were, he didn't even snag one and ended up in the human world on accident only a few years later.
In the distance he could see the general continuing his crusade to end (or enslave, either one) the lives of the humans at the Master's will, having just missed out on the rampage that went about in this now lifeless city, silent everywhere but where he was, choosing to play a fitting, melancholy piece he delicately plucked with the tips of his green claws. Turning his head away from the carnage, he left the world to finish a song he thought was long forgotten…
Behind the screams, a vagrant forgot the horrors around him until the final note, only to chuck the remnants of the minstrel and its instrument away from him to help suppress the memory of this moment, and more importantly, the life he left behind.
A/N - The Vagrant is sorta annoying and apparently doesn't know how to shut up…
Buuut, I don't hate him and I kinda got a kick out of the things he said throughout the game (Thanks, Captian Obvious~!). I always felt he seemed kind of… there, however, and I've always wondered why he was just chillin' at the fountain(besides to state what each of the crests do; but doesn't the game tell you what it does when you get it? Eh, whatever…).
Well, this is my take on his unofficial history - from a helpless, doomed-to-a-life-of-hell-type-of-cynical emo to what you read previously in Eccentric Encounters. Hope you enjoyed reading it, y'all. c:
