The Closer You Get
Ok, we have to admit, we've never really been fans of song-fics but we were listening to this bonus track on Dido's new album and decided it might make a nice story (not sure it did.) But review and tell us what you think.
Basically the Bladebreakers are having a dinner party at Kai's house. The lyrics are written in italics.
So leave your taxi waiting and turn and close my door,
"You can stay a little longer if you like" Kai said, leaning on the doorframe.
"Really?" Rei never wanted to leave in the first place, he was just being polite.
"Well those hoboes probably won't sod off for at least another couple of hours so you can stay and keep me company."
And sit back down where you were sitting, a little closer than before.
They went back to the dining room, where Tyson was busy helping himself to a fourth bowl of borsch. They sat themselves down at the circular table, Rei moving his chair ever so slightly nearer to their host.
And when you look that serious, it just makes me want you more.
Rei glanced at Kai who had put his 'touch me and die' face back on after returning to the rest of the group. He always thought it made him look even cuter.
And I've been meaning to tell you,
Kai had wanted to tell Rei what he felt towards him for so long, he'd just never found the right moment.

They'd all noticed a change in Kai lately, but only when Rei was around.

Rei knew Kai had started acting nervous around him. It wasn't like him.
You haven't touched your food tonight and you're drinking more and more.
Kai had noticed Rei hadn't eaten. Something was bothering him.
And there's no need to hurry, take your time I'll still be here.
'I don't want you to leave Rei' Kai thought to himself.
And I've been meaning to tell you.
Rei knew he had to tell Kai how he felt, it was getting out of hand.
