Axel held Riku's chin in his hand. "You really need to not look at me like that."
"Like what?" Riku asked the red haired menace.
"Like you want to be eaten." Axel replied, with a defined smirk on his face.
Riku simply stared at him. How did he always know? This radiant creature who had managed to capture his Sora's "heart"less had completely taken over his mind. He didn't remember a day when he didn't dream of meeting him or a minute where he didn't feel lonely because he wasn't there.
"Riku." Axel whispered all of a sudden.
"Yes?" Riku asked, taking a step forward.
"What do you want from me?" Axel asked.
His green eyes blazed with sometimes Riku couldn't place. He wanted to look closer, to find out what it was exactly and before he knew it, he was within a centimeter of Axel's face, staring into his eyes.
"Axel." Riku began. "Oh, Axel, if you only knew." He said and threw his arms around his tall, lanky figure and kissed him. He felt resistance at first but in a moment, he felt Axel's lips part and took that as an invitation. He sought Axel's tongue with his own and they were warring with each other before long. After what seemed like an eternity, the broke apart. Riku panted, slightly pink. Axel blushed, his face matching his hair.
"Riku?" He said, looking down at his beloved's face. "Since when?"
"I've known all along." Riku answered, linking his fingers behind Axel's head to keep him level.
"That's quite a long time to be loving me." Axel answered.
"Hmn?"
"I only realized, myself, when I saw your true self."
"But you were dematerialized, then, still."
"Seeing who brought me back was more than enough for even my stupid heart to realize what was true."
"Oh shut up, you were completely hung up on Roxas."
"I knew we had no future. He was less stable than even I was. I have always looked for something more, something stronger, perhaps, something more physical." He licked his lips and bent down to bite Riku's ear.
Riku melted. His ears were extremely sensitive and it was a good thing that he had his arms around Axel's neck or he would have fallen down because his knees had turned to mush.
Axel smiled smugly. He loved finding out things like this. The more had under his belt, the better. He didn't know how long he would stay here. Whatever Riku had done to bring him back was not permanent and he hated to waste a single minute.
The first few months, he spent pinning for Roxas, the first man to ever make him feel like he had a heart. He sought out Sora, feeling a kindred spirit in him but when he saw how happy he and Kairi were, he couldn't stay long, not with the atmosphere of joy they exuded. That was when he happened to find Riku again. He had been sitting on the beach with the sun setting, his platinum hair gently moving in the wind. Truth be told, he thought Riku looked like a girl at that moment but when he came closer and felt his heart start to beat faster, he knew that Riku was no girl, with his smooth, toned chest, his delectable arms, and his slight glare from those piercing eyes. He'd simply sat down next to him, black robes and all, and looking at the setting sun. Neither said a word and when the sun was completely set, they went their separate ways. Pretty soon, this had become a daily activity. Axel always came just as the sun started to set to find Riku sitting there and Riku was there as soon as he could be, to make sure he wouldn't miss Axel. The spikey redhead filled his thoughts for so much of the day that the only comfort he found was sitting there on that beach, waiting for him to come, knowing he would be there soon.
"Axel." Riku said.
"Mmm…"He had stolen another deep kiss and seemed to be far away.
"Perhaps you should stay over tonight."
Axel gulped loudly but nodded before giving Riku a big hug. "I never thought that I'd be so happy."
"Honestly," Riku said, " neither did I."
