I Don't Like the Dark Anymore

I used to like the dark. And no, I don't mean having a slight source of light by my bed. I mean complete darkness. No lights, no sound, nothing. Just me and the shadows. There's nothing to fear, right? I mean, after all, there's nothing in the dark! Right? Don't agree, because there is something in the dark. Something... monster-like. And no, not the boogie-man. Something worse. Far worse.

I was sleeping over at a friend's house that night, and it was getting late. My friend, Skylar, and I decided to go to sleep. I, of course, slept on the floor. He didn't kick me off down there. I decided to sleep on the floor at other houses. I don't want to take anyone's spot, so I always go for the floor.

Usually, when I sleep over at Skylar's house, it's peaceful. It's not dark like my room since there's a streetlight outside his window, but it's still perfect. But, this night I'll never be able to forget or get over. It was around two in the morning, and Skylar couldn't sleep, nor could I. But, I just laid there, my body facing his bed as I had my eyes slightly shut. Skylar kept tossing and turning. I didn't mind though. I was used to it.

About twenty minutes later, Skylar's window opened. We didn't mind it. We thought it was Destrey. He usually crawled through Sky's window since he kept it unlocked because he lived in a nice area. But, it wasn't Destrey. It was someone else.

"Destrey? Where'd you get the mask, buddy?" Skylar asked in a sleepy tone. There was no reply. I looked at the person, making not to let them see me. I looked just in time to see the unknown person raise a large knife and plunge it into my friend's chest, Skylar's screams muffled by the person's hand. I was terrified and shocked. I closed my eyes, blocking out the sounds that were coming from this. Then, it stopped, and I heard boots thudding towards me. I cracked my eye open just enough to look at the monster that had ended my best friend's life. The light from the outside allowed me to see. This person wore a teal hoodie stained with fresh blood, black jeans, and black combat boots. It looked like a male, no older than twenty, and also had a dark red mask. The eyes were pure black, as there was an X where the nose and mouth should have been. I didn't move, nor did I breathe. Soon, the masked person left, and once I was sure he was gone, I started crying, before I finally cried myself to sleep.

The next morning, I awoke to the sounds of birds singing, and the light filling Skylar's room. I hoped that last night was just a terrible nightmare. I took a deep breath, and slowly stood up. My eyes filled with tears when I saw my once best friend. His throat was sliced open, while he was missing his eyes and organs. I let out a horrified scream as I cried once more.

I don't like the dark anymore. I sleep with the light on, and all my windows and doors locked. Darkness brings back unwanted memories. I can still see Skylar's dead body in my mind. I cry myself to sleep nearly every night. So, whenever someone says 'there's nothing in the dark', just know that there is. And that monster, X, is just waiting for you to see him.

Okay, so I did this for my English homework today. We were supposed to write three paragraphs, but with me, I made a story. And this is about my Creepypasta, X. My teacher should know I'm crazy, so I did this because I could. But, as I was writing it, I thought to myself, 'should I try to make this a Creepypasta story?'

Well, that's why I wanted to post this. I copied it from my homework, and wanted your guys' opinion. I want to hear what you guys think. Should I post it, and see if says the story, or should I just leave it be, and not post it on the website? Please tell me! Thank you!
