BACKGROUND: 18th century England, Aden is from the oldest known vampire family the Mourningstars. Aden along with his brother Emmanuel and sister Rayne have special powers no other vampire has. Aden can intensify any emotion or pain someone (vampire or human or any other creature) has. He can also project himself into the past or future. Rayne can sense dying mortals or creatures and has the power to heal them. Emmanuel can control water. Aden is in love with a mortal named Amelia Phoenix. As you will see there love is greatly frowned upon. You will also meet other characters later on.

Love Is Mourning
Aden and Amelia stood holding each other, his pale skin glaring off her tan; panic was ensuing around them but both were completely oblivious. His fluorescent blue eyes held her liquid emeralds, starring into the infinite abyss that is love. He gently brushed her dark chocolate locks to the other side of her neck and began to gently kiss it. She moaned and leaned into the sweet kisses, saying "oh, Aden please do it, please!" She pleaded "I want to be with you forever!"
As Aden opened his mouth to oblige her, Rayne burst into the room, her once gorgeous face twisted with pain and despair, she sobbed out "they've killed him, they've killed Emmanuel, and we have to go now!"
"No," Amelia screamed. Aden took her distraught face in his ice, cold hands. "Love, we have to go." he said. She started to object, but in a motion to quick to see, he put his finger to her trembling lip. She collapsed into his hard chest sobbing out "will I ever see you again?" He lifted her tear-stained face to look deep into her eyes, "Lovely, "he began quietly, his normally velvet voice dripping with sadness, "our souls will meet again!"
With a soft, sweet kiss Aden and Rayne left. Leaving a broken figure sobbing on the floor, her sobs drowning out the increasing in volume. Her family found her on the cold floor, repeating the same phrase over and over again, "Our souls will meet again!" emphasizing the word will.
