Disclaimer: Do I own Artemis Fowl? No. However, Artemis being melodramatic is fun and I couldn't resist, so~!
Artemis was at the airport when he saw them. He'd been on a trip home from a business deal, accompanied by Juliet as he had somehow managed to insult Butler's cooking, reading tastes and overall appearance. This was absolutely not intentional and most definitely not intended as a ploy to annoy the man so much he would have to temporarily hand over general protection over to Juliet in the week before Butler's birthday. Obviously.
It was during the wait for the return plane (commercial, unfortunately as Butler was the one with the airport contacts) that Artemis saw Them. It would have been quite hard to miss Them actually, what with the way they squealed and immediately pushed past most of the queue as soon as they spotted him. 'They' referring to the two (almost certainly) crazy teenagers that were now stood in front of him and were staring in a way that could only be described as hungry. Alarm bells rang in his head and Artemis vaguely wondered why these things always happened to him.
The first one, he noted had black hair with dyed red highlights and was eagerly holding out a pad and a pen. The second was indiscreetly taking photos of Artemis and appeared to be mumbling something. Artemis thought he heard the phrase 'oh my god' more than once, something he found slightly worrying.
And then he realized something else; he was on his own. Juliet, the traitor, had purposefully deserted him roughly thirty seconds ago by now, and left him with these...
Damn it.
He knew who, or rather 'what' these people were and more importantly he knew he should have run far, far away the second he saw them.
They were... fangirls.
If Artemis managed to survive with his life and more importantly, his dignity intact, he would- would... probably go into hiding until he could come up with a suitable revenge plan. Preferably one that involved spikes, but any pointy instrument would be welcome.
The boy smiled. That wouldn't last long.
