a rainy sunday afternoon
Characters: Connie Springer, Sasha Braus
Summary: Tons of popcorn, a bad movie. The perfect formula for chaos and drama.
AN: I guess it makes sense that the first thing I contribute to this fandom is a crack-y AU thing.
The doorbell rang which was rare enough in the household where Sasha and Hanji Braus lived. When their parents had decided to go on a second honeymoon – to save their marriage as both girls knew – they had dropped the younger sister off at her older, equally eccentric genius of a sister which had already been an idea of questionable brilliance but for the moment, it worked as Hanji was quite busy with her work down in the hospital and Sasha spent her time either at school or with her friends.
As soon as the sound of the doorbell vanished, Hanji stumbled out of the living room, brown hair kempt neatly for her once – partly because her younger sister reminded her of things such as showering, sleeping and especially, eating. In this aspect, the current arrangement was positive.
The young scientist opened the door and took a step back as there stood not only one visitor but two. "I did expect you, Rivaille, but you, you're Sasha's boyfriend, aren't you?" she asked as she looked at the short boy with the grey hair.
The boy bowed his head. "Connie Springer," he said. "Uh, Sasha invited me to watch movies?"
"That explains the generous amount of popcorn she has been making," Hanji nodded. "Sasha!"
Behind her, the younger sister appeared, carrying a giant bowl of popcorn. "Oh, hello, Connie," she greeted before she frowned at the second visitor. "You are going out, Hanji?"
"We have a meeting with Irvin Smith, the director of the hospital," the black-haired man said.
"Oh, so he can speak," Connie chuckled.
Hanji grabbed her coat and threw her sister a gaze. "No burning down the flat until I am there to record it," she said with a grin. "Let's go, Levi."
Connie was silent as he stared after the brunette and the silent man. "Are they, like, dating?" he asked.
"I think so," Sasha shrugged. "She doesn't want to admit anything though. Typical. I may spy on them one day soon … I even ordered the right gear for it online."
"I may find the time to go with you when you stalk them," Connie said with a grin. "Okay, which movies did you chose?"
"Some of Hanji's love story movies," the girl shrugged. "Okay, let's get the party started!"
It rained outside as they sat down on the couch, wrapped into blankets with the bowl of popcorn in front of them, happily munching as the movie started.
Connie was silent for a few moments before he started to chuckle. "Pfft," he muttered.
Next to him, Sasha nearly fell from the couch, tears of amusement streaming down her face. "I love you more than I fear your parents?"
Her boyfriend rose and bowed overly dramatically in front of her as he grabbed her hand. "My dearest Sasha, did I ever tell you that your eyes have the colour of molten chocolate?" he asked with a exaggerated adoring gaze before he kissed her hand.
"No, Lord, Springer, you never said such kind things do me before," she said as she rested her hand on her heart. "And – my heart, it beats so fast. Does this mean something?"
"I am not sure, my dearest darling," he replied as he leaned in. "But – I feel it as well."
"Is your heart on the right side?" she asked with a mischievous smirk.
"Ah damn, I always get that wrong."
