All or Nothing
When Nikki moves on and marries Johnnie, Stanley decides to try everything in his power to woo Nikki, despite everyone's pleas to tell him to move on.
Stanley Oglevee runs as fast as his legs would allow, lungs begging for air from lack of breaks.
He loves Nikki Parker. He loves Nikki Parker. He loves Nikki Parker…
Her name runs rampant in his mind as he slams himself against the window of Andell's bar from exhaustion.
"Wait! Wait!" He screams, his body ready to collapse.
He makes his way in, collapses at her feet, belts his heart out to her in hopes that she'll still be the lovesick Ms. Parker he took for granted, that she'll remain the woman that had stalked, harassed, and held the torch for him for five years.
She looks into his eyes, and Stanley believes for a second that she would still be the same Nikki he fell for.
"I'm sorry," she says to the two. Johnnie looks crestfallen, and Stanley mentally pumps his fist in the air in victory. Take that, pretty boy!
"But…I deserve to find happiness with someone else."
That's when his world shatters.
"Professor," she begins, "You had five years to come to your senses. Five years of chances, opportunities, and you missed all of them. You're a great man, but you had your chance. You can't just toss me aside and keep expecting me to come running when you come to your senses, only to kick me to the curb and stomp all over my heart countless times. Here I was, second-guessing my own wedding for you, but now, I realize God made this happen so I can make my decision clear." She crouches down to him.
"I choose Johnnie. I choose happiness. I choose a man that loves me back and doesn't wait five years to crash my wedding because he doesn't like the thought of me loving another. So please, Stanley." Her eyes harden.
"Leave. Leave and let me finally be happy for once."
"Ms. Parker…"
"You heard my wife. Beat it." Johnnie gets up in his face, eyes ready to kill. Andell helps him get up, but she can't pick the shattered pieces of his pride and heart.
"If that's your decision, then goodbye, Ms. Parker. I'm sorry." He tells her. "I'm sorry, too. Have a nice life, Professor." She tearfully replies.
Swallowing the hurt, he limps his way out of the restaurant and collapses on the curb.
"You had your chance," Johnnie hollers out, "you had your chance and you blew it!"
"I know," Stanley mutters into the concrete.
"I know."
AN: This is my take on what should have happened because I feel Nikki deserved someone who loved her for her and doesn't wait five years to do it. I might continue this story, but for now, it's a one-shot.
