You're not my spark.

Lady Ianite thought about what she said to Sparklez a few days ago as she walked through the woods.

Ever since then, Sparklez had been different around her. He seemed to ignore her. He said hello and greeted her, but never really started conversations. This confused Ianite. Why was he so different around her? She hadn't done anything wrong. Was it something she said?

Then, Ianite realized it was.

Telling him he wasn't my spark. How could I say something like that? Lady Ianite asked herself. I must have broken his heart without even realizing it! How could I be so blind?

Her thoughts where distracted when an arrow flew by her head. She readied her sword... but an arrow pinned her dress to a tree. Ianite struggled to get free.

"What's the rush sister?" asked Dianite, approching from the woods.

"Get away from me." Ianite said, holding her sword up against Dianite's chest. Dianite simply grabbed it and broke it in half.

"Choosing a mortal weapon in a battle? Sister, the mortals made you weak. Vulnerable." Dianite told her.

"I am not coming with you." Ianite told her brother. "I will never become evil."

"Where's the fun in that?" asked Dianite, reaching for half of the broken sword. "It's time to make sure you don't come back."

Suddenly, Sparklez ran up and stood in front of Ianite.

"Step away from her Dianite." Sparklez told him.

"What's this!? Step away and let me finish the job!" Dianite roared.

"Sparklez, you need to get out of here!" exclaimed Ianite.

"No." Sparklez said to her. Then he turned to Dianite. "I'm not leaving because... I love her. Even if she doesn't love me back." he told him.

"You do understand I am a god and can kill you at this very second?" asked Dianite.

"Yes." Sparklez replied, the fierce look in his eyes showed Dianite he wasn't going to let him kill Ianite. A wicked smile formed on Dianite's face.

"Good." he said before shoving the sword into Sparklez's stomach.

"No!" yelled Ianite.

Dianite pulled the sword back out, grinning evilly at the shock on his sister's face as Sparklez dropped to the ground.

"He was weak. Like all mortals." Dianite said, looking down at Sparklez. However, Dianite saw that even though he would not live with the joy of killing his sister, leaving her heartbroken would be good enough. He removed the arrow and disappeared.

Ianitia knelt down by Sparklez's side. She held his hand between hers.

"Sparklez, do not die on me. You hear me? You cannot die. You're my best friend." Ianitia told him.

"Really?" asked Sparklez weakly, his hand's grip growing weaker.

"I was scared to admit it... but you're my spark." Ianitia replied.

Sparklez smiled.

"And you're mine. Until the end of time." Sparklez told her.

His eyes slowly closed and his breathing stopped.

"No...no..." Ianitia said in disbelief, shaking her head. She put her head on Sparklez's chest, sobbing.

Then, she picked him up and carried him back to town.

Next chapter will be a songfic for the funeral.

Yes, this is sad. But I hope you liked it!
