"Hello?" Marshall asked through the phone, the brightly coloured and noisily ringing object having woken him at 5:00 AM.
"Erikson,"
"Barney? It's 5:00?"
"Get out of bed,"
"Why? I'm tired, and it's not like I have a job to go to."
"God you're pathetic,"
"I'm looking as hard as I can,"
"What if I said I could get you an interview at Altracell in an hour?"
"I'm on my way,"
"Good. And Marshall?"
"What?"
"Suit up!"
.....
"Erikson,"
"Barney, this doesn't look like an interview,"
"You grew up in a small town didn't you?"
"Yes, but that-"
"And you had several brothers?"
"Yes, Barn-"
"Tell me, are you good at sports,"
"Well I don't mean to brag but-"
"Are you good at softball?"
"Why yes, yes I am."
"You're hired."
"What?"
"You've got the job Erikson, and you don't have to worry about working with the other guys in law, you'll have your own department, you'll only report to me,"
"I'm not sure I like the sound of that,"
"Pays good…really good. And there are all kinds of benefits for when you and Lily start popping out juniors."
"You had me at 'pays good'."
"So you want the job?"
"Of course."
.....
"Barney this was not what I had in mind when I took this job,"
"You had to see this coming." There they both stood in the company's softball uniform,
"I guess but pink?"
"Real men wear pink Marshall."
