A beautiful melody fills the air as I make my way up the steps towards the Cullens massive house.
With a bit of a shock I realize I recognize it as a song from a band that I've just recently discovered.
"Bella!" Alices soprano voice fills my ears as I take in the sight before me. Edward seated at the piano with Alice sitting, legs crossed, on the floor an acoustic guitar in her hands.
I eye them with a bit of wonder as Edward motions me towards him with an outstretched hand and a slight chuckle.
"Alice 'overheard' you listening to this song and she took to it, so therefor made me learn the notes last night." the soft melody of the guitar begins once again and Alice's beautiful voice fills the air with the beauty of the words. Edward follows suit with a few chords on the piano as soon as the first break occurs, her delicate but deadly fingers strum the guitar still and her voice fills the air once more.
I watch in amazement as Edwards hands gently stroke the keys of my favorite piano, somewhere from upstairs I pick out the noise of a set of drums at some points in the song. I tilt my head to the side and Edward notices where I'm looking.
"Emmett had to learn the drums." he chuckles "As Jasper got forced into learning the electric guitar." I shake my head and laugh as Edward begins to sing a few lines at the end of the song.
My heart literally skips a beat, I've never heard him sing before! His voice is simply God like, and it far surpasses Alice's light soprano voice.
Alice giggles and begins to repeat the last word of every one of Edwards sentences.
Finally the song ends and claps erupt from the dining room, my gaze roams towards the room and I notice Carlisle, Esme and Rosalie all with their eyes on the group in the living room.
I join the clapping and can't help a breathy "Wow"
"It sort of reminded me of you and Edward. Hope you enjoyed it Bella!" Alice jumps up, which causes the guitar to fall from her lap as she places her arms around my shoulders.
"Thank you Alice, I simply loved it." my eyes never stray from Edwards face, his eyes catch mine and he smiles my favorite crooked smile.
She lets go of my shoulders and flits her way up the stairs loudly humming the song for all to hear.
"Is there anything you can't do?" his eyes sparkle and my comment and someone behind us laughs as Edward leans in to brush his lips against my forehead.
"I can't speak Hungarian" this causes us both to laugh and his fingers begin to flit across the piano keys once more, a soft ominous, yet beautiful song begins to fill the air around us.
"My lullaby" I breathe and watch as he becomes completely enveloped in the song itself, his eyes only leave the keys to watch my reaction.
A small smile creeps across my face and lay my head on his shoulder enjoying the movement of his hands across the keys.
"I love you Bella" he whispers to me and I simply sigh
"I love you to" I can hear a low "Awe" emanate from the kitchen, most likely from Esme as I close my eyes and get just as lost in the melody as he is.
