Willow hurried down the hall at a pace quick even by her standards. She was looking for someone, and she needed to find them…before they went into class and before she lost her nerve. Something stupid. She rounded a corner without looking and slammed into someone, dropping all her books. Instead of helping like any other polite almost adult, they kept walking and Willow started picking up her books by herself. Within a few seconds, someone had joined her. Willow looked up; it was who she'd been looking for. Ah.
"H-hey." They smiled. Together, they finished gathering Willow's books and stood up. The other went to say something else but Willow interrupted,
"Wait. I know you have to go to class soon but I need to tell you something…or do something." She paused and shook her head, clearing it. She switched her books to the other arm. "Look, my whole life, I've done what was expected of me," she paused, "well, for the most part; always gone to school, always had good grades, never got in trouble, never…done anything stupid." Willows eyes shifted downward on the blondes face. "I'm tired of it. Bored. I want to do something. Something stupid. I was thinking last night and I realized there was something that I wanted to do, that I kept not doing because it's not what I'm supposed to do, what I've been told to do. I guess it's not stupid. No, not stupid, maybe a bad idea though. No, I want to do it and I'm done denying myself some sort of excitement that isn't just another A on an exam. Just…just." The girl seemed to notice where Willow was staring.
"To Hell with it all! You know?!" Willow realized she had gained volume and people were beginning to stare. She quieted down, "I mean what kind of life have I been living?! One where I was a slave to expectations, that's what! One where-"
The girl moved forward quickly and Willow was caught off guard. The next thing she knew, Tara's lips were on hers. For a second, Willow didn't react, but then her brain caught up and she kissed back. They were kissing each other. They were kissing each other in the middle of the hallway, in a college hall on a college campus and Willow was late for class. Willow was kissing a girl in a hallway and she was late for class. And maybe something stupid wasn't such a bad idea after all.
