Dean woke up screaming in the middle of the night. His memories of hell keep popping up in his dreams. He didn't noticed a presence in the room, while he run to the bathroom to throw up. The hunter couldn't sleep more than three hours in a row since he came back from hell.
As he walked back to the room the eldest of the Winchester's brothers was worried that he could have wake Sam, to remember a second after that his little brother was out, doing research of a possible case about a demon, in the library. Bless the lack of wify in cheap motels.
When he reached the bed he noticed there was someone else in the room, behind his back. He looked behind carefully, prepared to take out his knife, but he was startled, not by a demon but the blue eyes of an angel. Castiel looked worried. He had to talk to Dean, but when he arrived at the motel, the man was sleeping, so, following Dean's order, he didn't woke him up. The angel was watching him sleep when the nightmare started. At first Dean just moved, then he begun to talk, Cas was about to wake him up when he shout the first scream, but an instant later, Dean woke up, without any intervention of the angel.
Cas got out of the way when Dean stood up to run to the bathroom. He heard him puke his dinner, feeling incapable of doing anything. This wasn't the first time he has seen Dean having a nightmare, but this time was different, it was worse than the others.
-Shit Cas! Don't do that - Said Dean, putting his head back in his pillow.
-Dean, are you okay? - Asked Cas, with a worried look in his eyes. Dean looked at him. He wasn't "okay" but he will never admit it out loud.
Without saying anything Dean turned to look to the other side in the room, avoiding Cas's look. Not being capable to lie to him, but also not capable of telling him the truth.
Cas approached the bed slowly. Not wanting to scare Dean.
Slowly he got over the bed, and under the covers.
Dean almost didn't react.
Cas hugged Dean, and the hunter will never admit this, but he felt calm while the angel put his arms around him.
Almost an instant later, Dean was sleep. Castiel watched him all night, in case he had more nightmares, but he didn't.
Dean woke up alone in the bed. He felt refreshed after sleeping, for the first time in a year, without nightmares. Cas was sitting in the couch, in front of the T.V., watching the black screen, waiting for Dean to woke up again.
Dean stared at the angel, feeling embarrassed and thankful at the same time.
He was about to open his mouth to thank Castiel, when Sam opened the door. He was all night in the library.
-Hey Dean, Cas- Said Sam while he put a warm coffee in Dean's hands.
-Thanks- Dean said, while he was still looking at the blue-eyed angel.
When the day become night, Cas had already left. He and Sam worked all day hunting demons. They where hiding in a hospital, killing people for some ritual.
Dean was lying down on the motel's bed again.
He started to fall asleep, thinking of Cas.
Castiel was in heaven, trying to do his work, but he couldn't concentrate. He was still worried about Dean. In the middle of that thought, he heard a small "Tanks Cas".
The angel smiled.
