"Hey, are you still awake?"

"The sun'll be setting soon."

The both of you stared at the horizon. The breeze in your faces… Just another normal day.

After a day of playing around on the streets as usual, the both of you had settled down on a rooftop to relax.

The sweet memories of our childhood I'll always cherish…

"There's something I need to tell you... I'm joining the military. I'm going to join the Survey Corps."

"What?!" '...but...somehow...I already knew.' "Nothing I say will change your mind huh?"

"Yeah..." 'but you already knew didn't you?'

He could always read my mind.

It must've been his strong instincts, I guess.

"...in that case..." *gets up from lap*

"Then I'll join the Survey Corps with you."

"WHAT?! Daiki! Absolutely not!"

"Nothing you say will change my mind either."

"I won't let you throw away your life for nothing!"

"And what makes you think I'LL let you throw away YOURS?! ...sorry I didn't mean to yell at you..."

"Daiki, you have so much more at stake than I do... You're the heir to a noble house for Pete's sake."

Life sure is weird… never would have imagined an orphan living on the streets like me falling in love with the future…no… ex-heir of a noble house. Then again, I wouldn't have imagined my brother and I getting adopted by the Commander of the Scouting Legion either…

"I don't care about all that. I just want...to be by your side for the rest of my life..."

*flashback to the day you two met*

'I saw this boy around my age who slipped and hit his head...I didn't know why but I was so worried! I ran towards him and helped him up and then I looked into his navy eyes...and I fell in love.'

"_, I love you. Do you love me back?" 'What the fuck?! Shit I want to run away and crawl into a hole and die!'

"I...love you too." 'He's cringing and it's kind of cute...'

"Really?"

*laughs*

"Daiki. I'm always with you. Even when I'm not, wherever you go, I'm always with you."

"What does that- oh...I'm always with you too, okay? I'll always come back to you."

*both blushing furiously*

*he holds both my hands in his*

"Then...will you let me be your knight in shining armour?"

'Don't ever leave me.'

"...only if you'll let me be your damsel in distress."

'Don't ever let me go.'
