Jokess-Because I can't touch anything without turning the angst and drama up to 11. But yay for first actual crossover fic? And, as always, I do not own Frozen or Rise of the Guardians. Disney and Dreamworks respectively have that honor. And, yeah, I know the time periods/locations of the films don't quite match up like this, but I am not sorry. I think Disney and Dreamworks can handle a little more Anachronism Stew

Somethings are Worth Freezing For

Arendelle children, they were the lucky ones. They got to skate around in the courtyards and market streets and pretty much wherever they wanted and whenever they wanted. Other children, they weren't nearly as lucky.

Children like him and his sister, the others, they didn't have an Ice Queen. They didn't have talking snowmen or ice rinks in the middle of summer. They didn't have fun, not like Arendelle children anyway. Well, not ALL THE TIME at least.

Still, Jack was always willing to wait for winter. As much as he loved the snow and ice, there were other things to occupy his time. Summer things, like swimming in the rivers. Spring things like putting bugs down a girls shirt. Fall things like playing in the leafs. And, of course, prank things which were good for any time of year. There was always fun to be had and to be found, it was just that winter brought the most fun, at least for Jack.

Needless to say, the day Queen Elsa visited his little village was one Jack had looked forward to for weeks. Sure, SHE was visiting because Princess Anna, Kristoph, Sven and Olaf had convinced her that THE BEST carrots were sold here, but she was still visiting. That was a huge deal, after all it wasn't every day THE Queen visited no name villages like his own. Maybe the common man could visit her, but that was completely different. At least that's what the adult said. Jack didn't much care for their boring, not fun adult logic. All that mattered to him was that the lake would be frozen and winter would be coming to him months in advanced.

Two days after Queen Elsa had left and Jack nor his sister Jamie had gotten to skate on the lake the queen had frozen for the village. His sister had caught the sniffles, and as much as Jack wanted to skate and have fun, he couldn't without her. So he waited with her, and as he waited, he told her stories, rubbed her back and promised he could never be bad at her because she had gotten sick at the worst possible time. In short, they had fun, and two days later, Jamie was well enough to skate. And, better yet, none of the snow had melted and the lake was just as frozen over as it had been 48 hours ago. Or so they thought.

"Jack, I'm scared."

"Yeah, I know, but we're going to play a game now. We're going to have some fun."

"Really, Jack, no joke?"

"Yeah, Jamie. And when we get back, we're going to build a snowman."

Jokess-

Yeah, I know, Jack's sister was never given a name in the movie. And probably the books as well. Not sure of that. Even so, I'm convinced that was her name, It's not JUST a boys name after all. So, yeah, more fanon ideas, but dangit inspiration just won't let me be.
