Playground school bell rings again

Kids stopped playing and rushed back inside the school. Behind a bush, just behind the swings, were Rini and Hotaru.

Rain clouds come to play again

The rain poured down, falling just like Rini's tears. "Hotaru," Rini whispered softly.

Has no one told you she's not breathing?

"Hotaru, come back! Don't leave me here alone!"

Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to

Hello

Rini thought of all the times the two of them were together. Every time either of them fell the other was always right there to make sure they were ok. They would talk, laugh, and do many things together. They were best friends, the closest friends anyone could have ever been. They needed each other. But now Hotaru was gone.

If I smile and don't believe

Soon I know I'll wake from this dream

Rini shook her head in shock and said quietly, "You're not dead. I'll wake up and you'll be there waiting for me to play with you again. Just then, Serena and Darien ran around the corner and spotted Rini. Seeing Hotaru, the two quickly hugged Rini.

Don't try to fix me I'm not broken

She broke free of their grasp and instead hugged Hotaru. Silent salty tears poured down her face as she cried.

Hello I'm the lie living for you so you can hide

Don't cry

How could they take you, Hotaru? You didn't deserve to die yet! A sudden bright light awakened Rini. Looking around her room she saw Serena watching over her and the sun was beginning to rise. "Where's Hotaru?" Rini asked. "Don't you remember Rini? She died yesterday. You were with her," Serena replied sadly.

Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping

Hello I'm still here

All that's left of yesterday

Rini cried. Serena sat down on Rini's bed and put her on her lap and hugged her gently. Rini didn't fight. Serena's comforting was what she needed right now.
