"Pretty boy you know I love you right?" Derek asked.

It was a question he kept repeating to no one in particular. He feared that if he did eventually say it, if it did slip, the whole world would fall apart. He was afraid that Spencer Reid didn't feel like he felt.

"Derek you know I've loved you all along," Spencer thought to himself.

God it felt like he was crumpling to the ground. He might as well be dead if the pain in his chest hurts that much more. Everyone saw the way they look at each other except for them. Both madly in love with each other but clueless as ever. Even though they were profilers they can't figure each other or themselves out. The team all knew it and they know it can't continue anymore.

They were recently avoiding each other. Well it was more like Spencer was avoiding Derek after what had happened a few months ago. Derek got shot and he was in Spencer's arms practically bleeding to death. It took too long for the paramedics to show up but they arrived in time to save the older man. Garcia of course already knew everything. She knew Spencer loved Derek and vise-versa. She knew that the dark circles under his eyes were from lack of sleep. She also knew what made the young genius stay up at night.

Nightmares.

Nightmares that Derek didn't make it. A world without him and he was still covered in his blood. She, herself had nightmares of her "babies" dying in the field. She knew what it was like. That's why when he called her every night to call Derek and ask she gladly did it.

"Morgan come to the round table in ten," Hotch ordered.

"Alright," Derek replies.

"Hey Spence," JJ greets entering the break room.

"Hey JJ," he smiled from his third cup of coffee charged with sugar.

"Can you come to the round table in ten?" she asks.

"Is there a case?"

"No I just need your help," she smiles slightly.

"Alright," he smiles back.

The plan was already in motion. When Spencer walks in he sees Derek sitting alone. He looks around and sees it's empty aside from the two of them.

"Pretty boy?" he asks.

"I was supposed to meet JJ," Spencer says nervously.

"Yeah? Well I was supposed to meet Hotch," he got up.

They heard the door shut and the knob click.

"What the hell?" Derek asks walking over.

The door was indeed locked…and they were both trapped inside…alone. The blinds were drawn down. Derek searched into Spencer's eyes and saw a bit of fear.

"It's just the team playing pranks," Derek reassured.

"…I know," Spencer whispered.

"Then what are you afraid of?"

Spencer bit his lip, a habit he picked up whenever he was nervous or thinking of what to answer. Derek raised an eyebrow expectantly.

I can't keep this up, Spencer thought.

This kid is driving me madly in love, Derek sighed.

"Spencer, I won't hurt you," Derek said at last.

"I know…" he replied.

"Then what's wrong?" Derek asked again an edge to his voice.

"…Did you just call me by my first name?" Spencer looked up surprised.

I messed up! Derek scolds himself.

It probably means nothing, Spencer thought sadly.

"Look Spencer," Derek began.

"I thought you were dead...on a few cases ago. That bullet...was too close. And you didn't have your vest and maybe that's why I've been ignoring you. I just don't want to lose you. I don't want you to leave me like...like others have...not you Derek," He whispered.

"Spencer you won't lose me," Derek assured.

"Then promise me...promise you won't-"

He was cut short but he didn't know by who or what. Before he knew it he was pinned to the wall. Their lips interlocked. All it took for the genius to stop rambling was just a kiss.
