A teenage girl stood at the entrance of the woods. She wore a red cloak and a blue dress. She tugged at her brown braid as she stared into the forest.
"Breathe Red," she muttered to herself. "You are the spirit of adventure. You are not afraid of anything. Not even w-wolves. The forest is safe." Red Riding Hood has been afraid of forest and wolves all her life. Ever since she was a little girl she had always been curious and adventurous. One day she went into the woods out of boredom. A huge grey wolf attacked her and she never came out. The man in the moon had brought her back. She was now the spirit of adventure, bringing curiosity to the children.
"After all these years you're still afraid." Someone said. Red spun around. Standing behind her were two twin siblings. The boy had shaggy blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a white shirt, brown vest, and brown pants. His sister had two braided pigtails, identical eyes and a yellow dress. Red sighed and shook her head.
"Well, if it isn't tweedle dee and tweedle dumb." She said.
"What's so scary about the woods?" Gretel said cocking her head.
"As if you don't know! You died in the woods too!" Red snapped.
"Yeah, but we've gotten over that fear." Hansel said looking smug.
"Obviously. Cannibalism isn't too common, wolves however are still around. Now if you two will excuse me I have a fear to face." Red said. She took a deep breath and stepped into the woods.
"Not so bad…" she said to herself. She put on her hood and continued to walk.
"ahwooooooo" Red nearly screamed but covered her mouth. She quickly turn back to the way she came until she realized she didn't know which way she came. She was lost.
"BOO!" Red squeaked and turned around. Hansel and Gretel were on the floor laughing.
"It's not funny!" Red shouted.
"Y- You should've seen your face when Hansel howled. Oh that was too good." Gretel stood up helping her brother who was still cracking up. Red frowned and crossed her arms. She stormed away leaving the twins in there giggling fit. Hansel and Gretel loved to play mean jokes on her. They were both 16 like her and were killed by an old lady who had lured them with candy and sweets. They, like Red, were resurrected and became the spirits of common sense and knowledge. (Ironically neither of them had any of it). They were the only other spirits Red knew personally and interfered with her work.
They both influenced the children. While she was there telling them "climb the tree, you'll be able to touch the sky" they were there whispering "no! You'll fall and break your neck". This caused a lot of conflict and bad tension.
"Hurry Gretel run!" she heard Hansel shout. She rolled her eyes. They were trying to trick her again, she knew it. The twin spirits came dashing out of the bushes and fell over each other.
"Red! Red you have to help us, there's a huge wolf!" Red rolled her eyes.
"Yeah right. I'm not falling for it you two." She said. Hansel and Gretel looked at her with fear and clutched each other whimpering. But they weren't looking at her. They were looking above her. Red turned around and looked up. Behind her was a wolf. It wasn't an ordinary wolf. This was a huge massive wolf. It was the size of a bear and had golden eyes and golden fur. Red then did what any logical person would do. She fell over and screamed.
