Summary: Our story begins with three brave young men in search of their destinies within the world of Pokemon. Together they will experience many trials to overcome, romance, tragedies, rivalries, and many dangers along the way. Working together as a team our heroes will discover the world is full of mysteries waiting to be discovered, but upon making these discoveries they will forever set the course of history.

Chapter 1: Pokemon I Choose You
It is currently 8:00 A.M. in the morning and the sound of Pidgey's chirping and flapping their wings could be heard outside. Waking up from his slumber our young hero hopped out of bed in excitement as today is the day his Pokemon Journey. We currently find ourselves inside the home of Shu Ottegowa current resident of Pallet Town. Walking over to his dresser, the young boy took out a clean towel and spare clothes, heading towards the bathroom for a nice hot shower. While he was taking a shower his thoughts drifted towards the moment he would finally get his starter Pokemon. The moment he would get his starter, it would be his first steps in finding his sole purpose in life.
'Today's the day. The day I finally get to find my place in this world'. Snapping out of his thoughts he quickly finished his shower and went to dress.
Once he finished taking a shower, the young man had brushed his teeth and made his way down stairs. Walking down the stairs he looked at various family photos showing many memories of his time as a child. Reaching the bottom of the stairs he is greeted with the sight of his parents waiting for him, smiling. Walking over to the both of them his parents handed him his backpack along with a medium sized package. Putting aside his backpack he opened the package to find a new set of clothes for him. Looking them over, he smiled and brought them into a warm embrace. Letting go of his parents Shu ran back upstairs to change,it didn't take long for him to change and then he quickly returned a minute later
Shu stood at 5'8ft tall, he had jet black hair, jade black eyes, he wore black combat boots, grey cargo shorts, black coat with a hood, a black t-shirt underneath, black & red fingerless gloves, silver rimmed glasses, and grey hat. Looking himself over in a nearby mirror his parents smiled seeing how grown up their son looked. Shu walked over to the couch ,picked up his bag, then made his way towards the door. Opening the door, he gave his parents one last hug goodbye and made his way down the road.
[Scene Change - Center of Town]
As Shu was nearing the center of town he spotted two figures at the cross road up ahead. Upon closer observation he was able to identify the two figures just up the road in front of him. The first one stood at 5'11, has short curly hair, deep warm brown eyes, wore grey hiking boots, blue jeans, black dragonite t-shirt, grey trainer hoodie, red palm & red exterior fingerless gloves. His name his Gibran Atallah though we just call him Sam since nobody can pronounce his real name, though the reason he's named Sam is because of his samurai lifestyle.
Sam's family originated from the southern region of Kanto but moved to Pallet Town in search of a better life. As he grew up in Pallet town, he adopted the the identity of a Samurai, which adapted to sense of personality as a person. Though his idea in the way of the samurai kinda got out of hand at some point, to the point that he'll go on and on about the season of youth.
The person standing next to Sam also stood at 5'11. He has short brown hair and brown eyes, and his clothing consisted of a dark attire. Black sneakers, black cargo pants, black thick hoodie, and a black t-shirt under. His name is Logan Garcia. Logan's family originated from the Hoenn Region but moved to Pallet town; his parents wanted a simple life after retiring from their days as Pokemon trainers. As he grew up in Pallet Town, Logan has had trouble in finding his Profession in anything dealing with Pokemon. So along with his two best friends, Logan begins his search for his true calling in the Pokemon world. Walking up to his two companions, Shu greeted the both of them, fist bumping the both of them they greeted him back.
"Hey guys what's up?" Shu looked to the both of them with a smile.
"Waiting for you, my friend, to arrive, now let's go get our starters everyone." Sam turned around and started walking towards Professor Oak's Laboratory.
"Come on guys, adventure awaits us." Logan followed behind the two as they all make their way towards Oak's Laboratory.
While on their way to Prof. Oak's our hero's waved and greeted the local populace of Pallet Town. As the gang continues their way towards the lab they wonder what their starters would be like. 'Maybe I'll get a super rare Pokemon, hmm maybe I'll ask the others what they think' Shu thought.
Looking to Sam he asked "Hey Sam what do think our starters will be like?"
"Well I hear this year they have a Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Hopefully there are still enough starters for the rest of us." Logan and Shu nodded in agreement.
Logan looks up to the two of them and asked "Which one would you guys choose?".
Both Shu and Sam respond at the same time "I want Charmander."
Sam looks at Shu with a grin "Oh ya well not if I get there first before you do". Sam takes in full sprint towards the lab.
Shu snapped out of his stupor and shouted, "Hey no fair you have a head start". Shu takes off running after the young Samurai.
Logan lets out a sigh and quickly tries to catch with the two. "Guys wait up, you know I hate running".
[Scene Change - Oak's Laboratory]
After running for a while the three soon-to-be trainers arrive at the foot of the hill, leading to Professor Oak's Laboratory. Taking a moment to catch their breath Sam looks at the two with a victorious smirk.
"Ha take that, I got here first guys" Shu growled at him before he yelled.
"No you cheated, you were already running when you started that race. So there, you are hereby disqualified and I get to choose Charmander" Shu folded his arms and smiled at the Samurai.
"No, it's called strategy so deal with it. A samurai will do whatever it takes to not bring dishonor to his family" Sam countered back.
"Then what about your samurai's sense of honor huh? You just took off, then announced this challenge afterwards". Shu faced the other way with his arms crossed.
"Anyways, why don't we let the Professor decide who gets Charmander then" Sam looked the opposite way with a sense of arrogance.
Nodding his head, Shu starts making his way up the path towards the lab with Logan and Sam in tow. While walking up the hill they spotted someone waiting at summit. The person stood around 5'2 with a thick feminine figure, she had long vibrant red hair, and her eyes were hazel brown eyes. Her name is Beca Ketenbrink, Beca was born in Pallet Town. She was a kind and caring person to be around; she would sometimes be seen helping the local towns folk with many activities. Growing up in Pallet Town alongside Logan, Sam, and Shu, she found a love for battling. But assisting in a local salon with a friend, she found the beauty within Pokemon and it gave her the idea to become a coordinator.
Reaching the top of the hill, they greeted the young red head, who greeted them back with a warm smile. Beca wore black & white converse, Black high waist pants with silver stripes along the side, a black and purple t-shirt, and a galaxy hoodie. Taking in her appearance, the trio commented on how great she looked. Thanking them for the compliment, Beca and the three other trainers knocked on the front door of the laboratory. After waiting a couple minutes, the group heard footsteps on the other side of the door, and the door opened to reveal the town's local professor. Professor Oak stood 6 feet tall with gray hair and light brown skin, and he wore a white lab coat with a red dress shirt under it. The middle aged man looked to see who was at the door and smiled when he saw their excited faces.
"Well hello you four, I see you're here to get your starter Pokemon. Well then, come in and I'll explain what is to be expected of you on your journey" Prof. Oak moved aside so the four trainers could enter the lab.
Upon entering the lab they found piles of paper everywhere, stacks of books along the counters, and clipboards & files littered across the floor. Following the Professor they were led to a waiting area and were asked to take a seat. They took a seat on the couches as Professor Oak entered one of the nearby rooms, closing the door behind him. Looking to the others Shu wonders 'I can't wait to get my starter, I hope I get Charmander though'.
He snapped out of his thought as the Professor returned with a cart. On top of the cart rested 4 Pokeballs. Moving over to the four Pokeballs had us gather around as he was about to introduce the starter Pokemon.
"Now before any of you choose your starter Pokemon, allow me to explain a few things first. If you did or didn't know, the standard Pokemon we give as starters consisted of Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. But unfortunately those Pokemon have already been taken so you will have to choose from these personally selected Pokemon. Now again before you choose, I will explain what's to be expected of you on your Pokemon journey. As a Pokemon trainer, you are responsible for raising and training your Pokemon. Any report of you neglecting or abusing your Pokemon in any way will have your trainer license suspended and your starter taken. As you travel throughout the various regions you will be able to take up many different professions. These Professions consist of Trainer, Coordinator, Researcher, and Breeder. You don't just have to pick one profession to work with: you can choose several of these. As a trainer you will be able to take the gym challenge and then participate in the Pokemon League. The Gym challenge is where a trainer travels across the region challenging special trainers called Gym Leaders. Upon beating said gym leader you will obtain a badge, once you collect the appropriate number of badges then you can challenge the Pokemon League. Though a Pokemon Coordinator will participate in contests to obtain ribbons, once they obtain the right number of ribbons they will gain the title of top coordinator. Pokemon Researchers and Breeders are as stated in the name. Now any questions?" The Professor waited for any question to be asked.
Sam spoke up and asked, "Wait, you said that the three normal starters have been selected right? So what Pokemon will we be getting?"
"Well I'm glad you asked, my boy, the Pokemon before you consist of Cubone, Ponyta, Shellder, and Meowth" tossed the four Pokeballs into the air and they snapped open to reveal four Pokemon.
The first Pokemon looked to be some type of jackal standing on its hind legs, wearing a skull and holding what appears to be a bone club.
The second Pokemon looked to be a horse with cream white skin and red hot flames for a mane and tail.
The third Pokemon appears to be a purple shell with a pair of eyes in the center of it's inner shell, occasionally it sticks out its tongue.
The last Pokemon was a feline that stood on its hind legs and has a gold coin in the center of it's forehead.
The four Pokemon looked towards the humans with curiosity as they waited for something to happen. The four humans looked at the Pokemon in awe, as they inspected their possible future partners. Snapping out of their reverie, Professor Oak approached each and every one of them, handing them a Pokedex and 10 spare Pokeballs. Moving back over to the Pokemon, he explained what the Pokedex is, its purpose, and functions.
"Now the Pokedex, acts as a catalog of all the Pokemon across the world, but you will only obtain any other information of those Pokemon by catching them. Your Pokedex will also act as your ID and trainers license, so make sure you don't lose it. By the way, once you get the right number of badges, use the Pokedex to sign up for the Pokemon League." The trainers looked at the Pokedex in surprise, but then focused back on the Professor.
"Now let's move on to selecting your starter Pokemon, so I do believe it's ladies first." Professor Oak beckoned for Beca to step forward and choose.
Beca stepped forward and looked over the various Pokemon but only one of them caught her interest. Stepping over to the far right, Beca picked up the small feline Pokemon who meowed and nuzzled her cheek. Walking over to the Professor she picked up Meowth's Pokeball and took her place back in line. The other three trainers looked at one another to decide who would pick next. After a minute or two Logan stepped forward and approached the small bone wielding Pokemon. Looking down at it with a smile he greeted it, the small bone Pokemon squealed in delight as he was picked next. Professor Oak handed him Cubone's Pokeball then watched as he took his place back with the others. Now there were only two Pokemon left and it was down to just Shu and Sam to choose. The two looked at one another wondering who would be the next person to choose between them. But it didn't take long as Shu gestured for Sam to step up and pick which surprised the young warrior. Sam stepped up and walked over to the last two Pokemon, both Pokemon looked at him nervously wondering which one of them would be picked. Though their question was answered quickly as Sam beckoned Ponyta to follow and claimed it's Pokeball from the professor.
Shu smiled at his friends as he stepped up and looked over the Shellder, the small shell Pokemon looked at the young man with uncertainty. But it was a little bit relieved when the young man cradled it in his arms and smiled down at it. Walking over to the Professor, he thanked him for all he's done and claimed Shellders Pokeball. Once he claimed his Pokeball, Shu joined back with the others, each of them looking over at him with joy. Placing their starters down each of them took out their Pokedex and scanned their starter Pokemon.
[Cubone - the lonely Pokémon, Cubone wears the skull of its dead mother as a helmet. Because of this, much of its actual face has never been seen, except for its triangular, black eyes and a small area surrounding them. The skull has two rounded horns on the top of its head and a tooth-like point on the lower sides. Under the skull, Cubone has a brown snout. The small Cubone survives only through the immense skill it possesses in wielding the bone it carries as a weapon. This Pokemon is Male and knows the moves Bone Club - Headbutt - Tail Whip]
[Ponyta - the flame horse Pokemon, It's hooves are said to be harder than diamonds. It also has extraordinary jumping abilities, and is capable of leaping tall buildings in a single bound. However, a newborn Ponyta is a weak runner and is actually barely able to stand. It gradually strengthens its legs and becomes faster by chasing after its parents. This Pokemon is Female and knows the moves Ember - Stomp - Growl]
[Shellder - the black pearl-like Pokémon encased within a spiky, blue-violet bivalve shell. It has two round white eyes with tiny black pupils. Its enormously long red tongue is used to burrow itself into sand to sleep overnight, and also to lure and capture prey. This Pokemon is Male and know the moves Withdraw - Water Gun - Tackle]
[Meowth - the small feline Pokemon, Meowth is a quadruped with the ability to walk on its hind legs, It can freely manipulate its claws, retracting them when it wants to move silently. Meowth is attracted to round and shiny objects, and has the unique ability to produce coins using Pay Day. Being nocturnal, it is known to wander about city streets at night and pick up anything that sparkles, including loose change. This Pokemon is Female and knows the moves Growl - Scratch - Bite]
Once everyone had finished scanning their Pokemon, they each returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs. As they were about to grab their things and leave so they could get a head start on their Journey, Professor Oak stopped them. Looking to the Professor questionably, he smiled and suggested they have a practice match. Everyone looked at one another with anticipation, wondering how this would play out. The Professor then led them out back towards the practice field for them to use, seeing as they were excited to battle.
[Scene Change - Training Field]
Upon arriving at the field everyone decided to make this a double battle, and quickly decided who would pair with who. Both teams stood across from one another in the trainer boxes. Team 1 consisted of Beca & Shu, and Team 2 consisted of Sam and Logan. Looking towards the Professor, he told them he would toss a coin to determine who would go first. Shu chose heads and Logan chose Tails. Tossing the coin in the air, Professor Oak caught it back into his hands and the coined revealed to be tails. Both teams nodding their heads, they tossed out their Pokeballs releasing their respective starters. Both pairs of Pokemon stared down at one another with determination, as this was going to be their first battle with their trainers. Professor Oak saw that they were ready and signaled for the battle to begin, Logan and Sam wasted no time and called out their first attacks.
"Cubone use Bone Club on Shellder" Logan watched as Cubone's bone like weapon glowed and charged the small shell Pokemon.
"Ok then Ponyta use Stomp on Shellder" Sam's Ponyta followed behind the small bone wielding Pokemon in attacking the small shell Pokemon.
Cubone Rushed forwards and striked down Shellder with it's bone like weapon launching it a few feet back. But before it could regain it's barings Ponyta rushed in stomping it on it's front hooves. Shellder cried out in pain from the double blow that was dealt.
Shu recalled Shellder back to his side as he called out his first order, "Alright Shellder cool off Cubone with a Water Gun attack" Shellder launched a barrage of water.
Beca followed Shu's lead and called out to Meowth, "Meowth use Scratch On Ponyta" Meowth's Claws glowed white, then grew a couple more inches before charging the small flame horse Pokemon.
As the barrage of water was about to hit Cubone it skillfully dodges the oncoming water. Meowth's attacks was no good either as it kept missing it's strikes against Sam's Ponyta due to it's agility and speed. Both Pokemon end their attacks and returned to their trainers sides.
"Ponyta use Stomp on Shellder again" Sam's Ponyta" Ponyta rushed forward in attempt to trample and pound the small shell Pokemon with its front hooves.
"Next Cubone follow it up by using Bone Club on Shellder " Cubone rushed along side Ponyta in targeting Shellder once again.
Ponyta failed in its attempt to curb stomp the small shell Pokemon but Cubone manage to sneak in and hitting it. Thus launching at back at it's trainers feet. Shellder struggled to stay conscious but managed to hanger in there .
"Meowth Use Scratch on Cubone" Meowth followed it's trainers call and charged in with it's glowing claws.
"Shellder use a wide spread Water Gun" Shellder unleashed a massive barrage of water projectiles at the two Pokemon.
Unfortunately both trainers attacks were in vein as neither one of their Pokemon could land and single attack to their opponents Pokemon. Both of their Pokemon stood vast as their drive to win still burned even brighter than ever. Shu and Beca looked to one another and saw that the situation was turning grim and that they needed to turn the tide of battle soon.
"Ponyta let's switch things up and use Ember on Shellder. " Ponyta unleashed a small burst of flames at the the small shell Pokemon.
"Cubone try using Headbutt on Shellder this time." the small skull wearing Pokemon charged forward head first in attempt to bash it's shell in.
As the flames from ember his the small shell Pokemon but it had on affect on it what's so ever, though it was blindsided by skull wearing Pokemon. Shellder flew back from the headbutt but was caught by Meowth who assisted it in gaining it's bearings.
"Alright no more playing games, Shellder use Tackle on Cubone" Shellder launched forward hoping to hit the bone wielding Pokemon this time.
"Let's help them out Meowth and use Bite on Ponyta" Meowth lunged at the small flame horse Pokemon baring it's sharp fangs, in hope of taking a bite out of that small fowl.
As Meowth closed in on on Ponyta, it fired an Ember in a last attempt to counter Meowth. But Meowth with quick reaction speed, dodges the attack but it ends up hitting Shellder in her place. As Shellder cried out in pain from the flames due to it already being tired out lost consciousness. Ponyta cried out in pain as Meowth dealt a devastating blow but before it could go any further Professor Oak's voice filled the air deeming the battle to be over.
"Since Shellder is no longer able to battle, the winners are Sam and Logan" Everyone returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs thanking them for their hard work. Once they had they returned to their Pokeballs both sides shook hands and congratulated one another for making it a great battle. After congratulating the two boys on their win Professor Oak led everyone inside to heal their respective Pokemon. While their Pokemon were being taken care of, the group of four took this opportunity to ask a couple more questions before returning home.
"Professor before we head out we'd like to ask you a couple of questions about our journey" Beca looked to the Professor with a questionable look.
"Of course my dear, what would you all like to know then?" looked around as the four smiled back at him
"I was wondering Professor, what would be the closest Gym to Pallet Town?" Professor Oak smiled at the boy.
"Well Sam to answer you question, the closest Gym to Pallet town would be the Pewter City Gym" Sam looked to middle aged man and thanked him.
Beca looked to the Professor with uncertainty and spoke, "Professor where would be a good place to start participating in contests?".
"Well the closest place to start is in the Hoenn Region, but since that won't be for a while I suggest you stick to gym battle for now" Beca smiled and nodded.
Soon enough their Pokemon was back to full health, and the four trainers thanked the Professor for all his help before returning home. Upon returning to their homes, the four trainers said their last goodbyes and grabbed their things. Once they left their homes, all four them meet back up in the middle of town then went off to start their quest.
