A young girl sat on a branch high up in the sacred tree. Her black hair blowing around in the breeze. Crystal-clear tears running down her cheeks but it didn't matter no one could see that she was crying no one even knew she was there not even her family.
" why? Why do I love him?"
the old well house flashed blue, but she didn't see it.
A young Inu-hanyou walked out. He sighed it wasn't she thought it was he'd been telling Kikiyo goodbye. He smelled tears.
' great she's been crying over me again.'
He looked around trying to figure out where she was when he heard it, her voice sounding broken and confused.
" why do I put myself through all this I know that he loves her but I can't help it… I-I love him even though he always breaks my heart."
' she loves me?'
he caught a glimpse of white in the sacred tree.
' why'd she go up there by herself, she could fall.'
He rushed to the tree and jumped up, startling the young girl. She would've fallen but he caught her and put her on his lap.
" what were you thinking coming up here by yourself?"
she sighed, her eyes clouded over with pain and heartache.
" oh that's right can't let the jewel detector get hurt can we."
She said bitterly. He looked her. The pain in her eyes made her heart break.
" is that what you think? Well your wrong you should know by now that your so much more than a jewel detector none of us think you like that. To shippo your like a mom, to Sango your like a sister, and to Miroku your like a little sister… and to me your …"
" …a best friend?" she asked trying to fill in the blank.
" yes."
She felt her heart break a little more.
" but you more than that I- uh
you- uh I mean I love you Kagome."
she gasped .
' did inuyasha really just say that?'
" I love you too , I always have but kikiyo-"
" is a thing of the past."
" really?"
"really."
She smiled up at him, he smiled down at her. He leaned in and gently kissed her she kissed him back. They pulled away a few minutes later. She leaned back against him and together they watched the sunset.
