White, Black & Grey Saga — Volume I
Summary: 'The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...' — With barely one third of the prophecy known by both sides, mistakes were made. Of the four babies born in July, only one was marked and proclaimed as the Child-Who-Lived in October of 1981 – but that didn't mean it was exactly thatwhat happened. In a world where nothing of that held importance, the wrong chosen child and his strange sister were born together and torn apart again. Still, it didn't matter how many times he had to do it; finding and protecting her was his first and foremost priority.
The beings known as 'servant vampire' — shortened to Servamp — exist, and the dying humans turned into vampires by them are called subclass. There are 「Seven Servamps」, and each of them represents a sin. But what happens when an unknown 「Eighth Servamp」 appears? Amara's loyalty belongs to her brother, though with him being Melancholy's subclass and her being Sloth's eve things are surely going to get complicated.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter belongs to J.K. Rowling, and Servamp belongs to Tanaka Strike.

Warnings: Use of mild swearing, mentions of abusive household, blood and character death; and manga spoilers too, a lot of them.
Pairings: Not Decided Yet.
Before starting, quick filler. I've been wondering lately about Mary-Sue characters, and I would very much like to know — be informed — if my self-insert is classified as such by the people who read this. The definitions about Mary Sue characters have me a little confused, honestly.
'Originally, a Mary Sue is a character that is shamelessly self-inserted, poorly developed, without flaws and stupidly overpowered'
'A Mary Sue is an idealized and seemingly perfect fictional character; often, this character is recognized as an author insert or wish fulfillment. They can usually perform better at tasks than should be possible given the amount of training or experience, and usually are able through some means to upstage the main protagonist of the story — such as by saving the hero'
Amaranth is a self-insert, yes, but she has flaws; there is no perfection in the world, and I am aware of that. She makes bad choices, she's selfish and subtle when it comes to manipulating the people around here — as long as they're not the ones she cares about and loves. 'Overpowered'... well, she destroyed the Deathly Hallows and earned a cursed immortality as the price for her daring actions.
*SPOILERS*
But, of course, she is still destined to die in order to go forward.

Prologue I — A Silver Moon Of Emerald Eyes
She was cursed with 「immortality」, but also with 「certain death」
Eighteen-year-old Nacht Mellea Todoroki[1] wasn't normal. She did things no one else could, knew things other people weren't aware of. Knowledge and power rested in her hands, but she never understood what to do with it.
As Amaranth Lily Potter[2], all she'd done was focus on the ones that threatened her siblings and cut them down; magic was useless if you lost the wand, so her main weapon used to be a sword — an old-fashioned and rusted sword, heavy to carry during a battle but very effective to Death Eaters that expected spells thrown at them and got a muggle-made weapon instead.
As Himura Shizu[3], all she'd done or tried to do in the end was meaningless; the world — all her hard work — crumbled to pieces. C3's Tokyo Branch was destroyed from the inside along with its main base; even though she didn't know who had made it happen, of all the people inside the building only a few managed to escape. None of them were the ones she hoped to see, and she wondered when had she made the mistake that ruined everything.
Blindly — without knowing, without enough magic to turn back in time — she wished for the destruction of the world she'd been born in.
But a song satisfied the desire born from sadness and the death of her loved ones, a song made to do exactly what she wanted.
"Use your pain to extinguish" wryly, she realized that this was the second time she murdered her older brother, whether it be intentionally or not. "The sound of all your budding desires... There is nothing left that can be saved — if despair has become your only salvation. The light that was lost will never shine again" why couldn't she definitely die and return with her family? "Will never shine again!" why did she have to remain alive when the others were dead?!
Nacht Todoroki wanted to dissapear–
"If all this is an illusion, then simply leave everything behind;
it is the truth of this world of restart.
If all this is destiny, then simply leave everything behind;
an individual life, born to be taken to a world that has nothing to live for."
– and Satou Natsume[4] took her place.
She went through a lot of tries, of failures and mistakes in order to find the right way to do things; all she needed was to be born three years earlier, becoming an older sister instead of younger twin — that's what she realized when it happened. By then, Nacht finally understood—
"Licht! Geez, don't run off on your own!" she complained, grabbing her little brother's hand as soon as she reached him.
"Clouds... I want clouds!"
By 'clouds' he meant the fluffy-looking cotton candy being sold at the japanese fair she'd come to see with her parents and sibling while they were visiting their grandfather. Nacht grimaced; it was obvious that their mother's constant insistence of Licht being an angel was already corrupting him — and he was only a six-year-old.
"Dad didn't give us enough money" she told him quietly. "But you can pick up whatever you want as long as it doesn't surpass 500 yen[5]"
"What about that?!" he pointed out a dark blue box, pale lilac lines stretching everywhere like ivies in a wall.
"Why that?"
No, honestly. If Nacht wasn't mistaken, what he wanted her to buy was a music box — a rather dull one. And wasn't his answer — 'It reminds me of big sister' — sweet? Her baby brother sure knew how to make her cave to his whims with a few words.
She watched her brother hold the bought item close to him as they sat on a bench and waited for their parents, the dark blue of a night over their heads as pale lilac stars filled the sky.
And brown eyes stared at her as she left.
[1] Nacht — 'night' in german.
Mellea — japanese pronunciation for the combined form of the words Merak (a star) and Rea.
[2] Amaranth — immortality.
(Scarlet) Lily — high-souled aspirations; seeing that the son had his second name in honour of his father, the daughter could have her second name based on her mother.
[3] Himura [緋村] — (緋, hi) scarlet, dark red; (村, mura) town, village.
Shizu [静] — quiet.
[4] Satou (Satō) [佐藤] — (佐, sa) help, aid; (藤, tou) wisteria. The final character might indicate a connection to the Fujiwara clan.
Natsume [棗] — (棗, ('jujube')) a type of chaki (tea caddy) used in Japanese tea ceremony.
[5] 500 yen [¥] — 4′43 US dollar [$].
On average, cotton candy will usually just depend on where you purchase it; sellers usually sell cotton candy for as low as $1 or as high as $5 per stick if you were to buy it at a local event. Sporting events and other pricey events will tend to be near the higher end, while cotton candy found at a local store or small town fair could be cheaper.
Names are important. Everything I write, every name used, is based on what I expect from the characters and how are they going to evolve.
This is my first try at a decent fanfic. I love Servamp, and I love Harry Potter; there isn't a Harry Potter/Servamp crossover category, so I decided to be the first at it by making this piece of work that took me around two months to write.
It's late here and I have to get up early tomorrow, so I'll go to bed.
I hope you like it!
Edited 31/10/18, 23:56 — I'm trying to follow the cannon timeline, but there will be a point where Cannon-Servamp stops and I will take on from there. I just hope to have a good grasp of the cannon characters and their intentions in order to represent them as acurately as I can in my story; there's been a lot of ideas flying inside my head lately, so I'll probably publish more HP crossovers soon.
(Also, should I write Volume Ø — the first Harry Potter world where Amara and Alex were born, and all the events that they went through and shaped their personalities?)
Cannon World first, whatever springs in your mind later — or it is the other way 'round? Ah~~, does it really matter?
Thumbs up for everyone who knows where I got the second song from! (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
Edited 14/11/18, 02:30 —Changed Licht's age; the festival took place in 2000 so he was supposed to be five instead of six. I only noticed that while I was writing the next chapter.
